A Refreshing collection of short stories that draws on the day to day experience of Ghanaians and highlight some issues that are shove under the carpet in the Ghanaian society.

I love this book so much because the stories are short, refreshing, witty, authentic and truly Ghanaian.

Ghanaians are people noted for their cultural values, hospitality, friendliness and open arms approach to everything. I love how the authors infused it into the stories giving us different narratives. The imagery in the book is powerful leaving you wanting more. Assan and Tamakloe gives the reader a combination of fun , facts and fiction.

From serious stories like ‘White Polo’, ‘Survivors Guilt’ and ‘For hiring’ to controversial stories like, ‘ Konkonsa’ and ‘April 1988’ to love stories like ‘letter to Camilla ‘ and other hilarious ones like, ‘Maame Jata’ and ‘Kumasi’.

Stories such as ‘Hustle’, ‘The Politician’, ‘The flag bearer’ , ‘Bribery’, ‘Made in Ghana’, and ‘The Power in the bribe’ captures the firsthand experience of living in Ghana, the challenges, daily hustle, endless possibilities and opportunities, disappointments and dashed hopes. It’s either you play along or get left behind.

Made in Ghana is a thought- provoking collection, in as much as the stories are hilarious it draws the readers attention to critical issues such as unemployment, corruption, bad governance, family pressure, parenting and religion.

I highly recommend to anyone looking for a light and memorable read. Also, some of the stories are written in Pidgin for my pidgin lovers.
