Moscow wants them. Afghanistan needs them. Ten top secret weapons developed by the U.S. Navy. A traitor, working somewhere within the DoD, has made an initial offer to the Russians: the weapons in exchange for -- absolutely nothing. While the Russians are suspicious, they decide to proceed with the transaction. The assignment is turned over to their newest operative, their sleeper agent "Antares" who's prepared to take on his first mission: liberate the weapons from the Americans. He devises an ingenious plan. With odds stacked against him, he's confident he can pull it off. Success is within reach.
All that's standing in his way: Grant Stevens and Team Alpha Tango. Assigned to the mission by President Andrew Carr, Stevens and A.T. are tasked with preventing the weapons from reaching their intended destinations, finding the Russian and the traitor.
Encountering obstacles, frustration, and surprises at nearly every turn, Stevens and his men must try and outwit Antares. What none of them realize is another important, unpredictable player is ready to cast itself into the deadly fray. Fate.
Nice storyline. Was not expecting who the mole turned out to be. Poor Grant drugged and shot...You just never know who your enemies are. WTG Jamie Fredric, another good story. Thanks, Amarillo Turtle
The group is hired to find a mole and someone leaking intelligence to the Russians. The most shocking part is when they discover the "leaker" looks like Grant!
It's good to see that the team is still going strong. A few missteps in the beginning, but another successful mission completed. Looking forward to the results of that DNA test, however.
Very easy reading. My only critique is this particular book must have come in at the last second of the publisher's deadline and they had to shortcut the editorial services, because there are numerous typographical errors in it, but it doesn't really detract from the reading experience much.
If you've read any of the other Grant Stevens novels and liked them, you're going to like this one. Very entertaining. There isn't a lot of fill pages. The author keeps the story line moving forward consistently, and that will keep you turning the pages.
Jamie Frederic has so defined the characters in this series it is hard not to think of them as friends. Grant Stevens faces personal issues on this mission that are intriguing. Add to those the outline of a carefully choreographed mission plan and attempted execution and you have a good book.
I recommend this and the previous books in this series. They have all been fast paced with impressive action...really exceptional action! I look forward to reading the rest of the books.
Wish I had read this first as it gave the relationship to key personnel in the series. A good read for pure enjoyment yet moved a little faster through key parts than I would have preferred. Recommended and I will read more by Fredric.
