Panther Dream, A Story of the African Rainforest by Bob Weir (Hyperion Books for Children 1991) (Fiction – Children's). While hunting in the rainforest for food for his family, a young boy is befriended by a panther. The boy learns about the animals and plants that live in the forest and the interrelationship of all of the lives that call the jungle home. This is one of two fine children's books written by Bob Weir, guitarist with the legendary rock band the Grateful Dead. My rating: 7.5/10, finished 8/6/15.

3.50 stars Great illustrations and an interesting story. I liked the illustrations and learn about a new animal. It looks like a zebra but it is called okapi but it says it is most closely related to the giraffe.
