This is an adorable book with great illustrations and a wonderful story. It's about a child who spends time with his grandpa, doing the grocery shopping, listening to music, talking about girls, playing sports... I love that the end of the book has some activities to further engage your child with the story, like comparing pictures of food to a grocery list to identify which groceries grandpa forgot, and a space to draw your favorite thing to do with your grandpa. A super cute book, and I definitely want this (and one for grandmas too, please!) in my children's library collection.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Another book in the series, this one a bit better than Hooray for Mommy but still not as good as the masterpiece Hooray for Grandma.

I feel like the main character, the little boy, doesn't charm the reader as a narrator, although the grandpa is really really nice. I like that the boy shows emotions and how grandpa deals with that - I think it will be a great lesson for the little ones.

Boy hangs out with grandpa. Their entire relationship seems to consist of the kid saying something and grandpa listening, then offering some advice. They do some things together too, but not much compared to that dynamic.
Oh no! Gramps is one of those idiots who plays music full blast! Try to make him sympathetic after that! Even the cat laughs at his air-conducting.
Like the others in the series, there’s activities at the back. The first one’s the toughest, though the stringed instrument one is a trick question.
Overall I just got the feeling this one wasn’t quite as good as the others, but still acceptable.

First off I don’t like the cover in the digital galley. If this is a sold color cover with a cut out to see the print underneath that is a different story but as it is currently laid out it is bland. Let the artwork speak instead of the shape. The leaf shape has NOTHING to do with this story. And the illustrations are really nice. The story is a look at grandpa and how well he listens. Plus there are some activity pages in the back. Change the cover and this would be a great book (4 stars with a different cover).

I didn’t like "Hooray for Grandpa" as much as I did the other books. The continuity seemed off and it was kind of repetitive.
