“A contemporary romance with a heavy dose of comedy! Or is it a comedy with a heavy dose of contemporary romance?” -Blogger For the Love of Books4
“This book met my expectations, plus some! I applaud Stacey Rourke for her phenomenal characters, and an enthralling plot line, that kept me turning the pages. I won't post any spoilers, but I would really like to see both Adapted for Film and Turn Tables actually be adapted for film and brought to the big screen!” -Amazon Reviewer
A Romantic Comedy full of drama & giggles! If you’re looking a funny read that is not out to break your heart or force you to throw a character off a bridge in a jealous rage then this is a terrific pick for you. FYI, be prepared to get a few odd looks when reading in public as an unexpected laugh or snort may escape you. Rourke is a master at blending the perfect amount of action, suspense, & wonder into the mix. Her books repeatedly suck me in m, crack me up, & I sincerely loved every minute of it!! This series is different from any of her previous works yet her comical quirkiness continually shines through with characters never lacking depth. Always lovable (ok ... some of them you truly love to hate, but that's just a different kind of love, right?) & the story inside a story kept me engaged the entire journey. Hilariously frustratingly enchanting! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Adapted for Film’s friendships really made me feel their bonds. The addition of Mr. Hotness *ahem* Greyson was a great twist & the BFF/assistant was killing me...especially while in the presence of Mateo! Pssst...I may have woken the hubby laughing out loud many times while Kole was aggravating Aubrey & vice versa. And..for the life of me I could not determine who Aubrey would end up with! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Turn Tables is the perfect twist of the telenovela you can't turn away from meets Popstar Mr. Suave. A fabulous play on Jekyll & Hyde that had me feeling every bit of Tandy's emotions simultaneously from her love & desire to her very valid fears & worries along with those butterflies in the tummy with each glimpse cast her way. Matthew could melt an iceberg while Mateo could send a forrest ablazin'! One of my fave characters Bree is back with all of her adorableness! Her & Kole go together like PB&J. I just love their conversations...especially when Mommy dearest arrives! His not so unreasonable fear of the huge bear stalking around is quite hilarious as well. I definitely look forward to more of these characters & the very real world romances they bring us.
Adapted For Film This book was a lot of fun to read. It was so full of humor, quirkiness, fun, romance and sometimes a bit awkward too. There was so much witty commentary that is so Stacey Rourke and I found myself many times laughing out loud and scaring my cat half to death. The characters were remarkable and I loved how the author brought forth an author, who was an introvert, as the main character of the story. The story-line was genius, I couldn't put this book down I was so enchanted by the story itself. I loved how the author goes from present to past, though usually that puts me off in stories, but it actually worked in this one. It's not the usual Rourke read, but I think the author did an awesome job with this debut New Adult Contemporary Romance and I highly recommend this story to all to enjoy.
Turn Tables AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING!! This story was INCREDIBLE!! Rourke has done it again!! She has created a fun and romantic rom-com read that kept me turning every single page. There were so many feelers in this story, I wasn't sure whether to laugh out loud, cry, or be infuriated right along with the characters in this story. A piece of my heart has for sure been left within its pages.
The characters were awesome and the story-line is movie worthy. I could picture every scene in my mind as they unfolded. I found myself completely enchanted by the words that flowed freely off of each magical page. I have to admit that the third to the last paragraph almost, and I mean almost, had me tossing my kindle, because I felt for sure I was going to be upset for the characters.....but I took a deep breath and read on......and as I did, the tears started rolling for the character's happily ever after.
This is one of my new favorite reads from this author and one read that I will go back and re-read from time to time to see the magic unfold once again. I highly recommend this read.
This was a pretty quick read for me, I just couldn't put it down. I caught myself laughing out loud a few times. If you need a giggle, this book is for you!
This book was clearly not for me. I thought it was a train wreck, but I couldn't stop reading it either. I LOVED the first one, however I don't like Tandy. She is so selfish! Her best friends wedding turned into being about her. I am sorry if you are a true friend, you drop all your issues and be there for the bride. Even the wedding toast somehow became about her. UGH! I can understand how so many thought it was a great rom-com, I just wasn't feeling it. Many people will probably love Tandy and all the drama that goes along with her, I just am not one of them. I DID however love reading about Aubrey's wedding, everything about it would have been magical had the drama been removed.
Stacey Rourke is an amazing Author, keep up the great work. This was well written and very few errors, I will recommend this to anyone looking for rom-com, just make sure you are in the mood for it.
Romance books are NOT my thing but this series is fantastic! Fans of Stacey Rourke need not fear her journey in to New Adult Contemporary Romance genre because this book is classic Rourke. The witty, snarky commentary that Rourke is known for is definitely present. Whether she is writing a fight scene in the Gryphon Series, a murder by the horseman, or expressing one’s true love in a butterfly garden; Rourke’s wit and charm shines through.
Turn Tables
Every woman needs a BFF like Tandy. I laughed throughout the entire book. I highlighted countless Tandy quotes. Seriously, y'all...this book is freaking hilarious from the first line to the last.
Turn Tables is a story of best friends, family relationships, and the insanity of love. From dealing with wedding gitters, Aubrey's narcissistic mom, a guy/girl in a bear costume, to her own spiraling out of control love life with Mateo; Tandy is firing on all cylinders. I love her.
There are so many great moments in Turn Tables: a three way in a closet and one of them is a bear, a roll down a hill, ass on display while sashaing through a castle, Willa being the voice of reason; and so many more!!! You need to read this book. It's insanely, pee your pants, laugh out loud, snort giggle funny.
Adapted For Film I am a huge fan of Stacey Rourke's Legends Saga and wasn't sure what to expect from Adapted for Film. I must say that I loved this book right from the very first pages. It is well written, super witty and has loads of funny banter.
I soon as I read "Tormenting Camden brings me immeasurable joy." I knew this was my kind of book!
Turn Tables We first met Tandy in Adapted for Film. I wasn't sure how I would like this book as I didn't overly care for either Tandy or Matteo in the first book. It ended up being a fun, quirky read. The witty banter and the ridiculous high jinks were still present, as was the sarcasm and humour.
While not necessary, I would highly recommend reading Adapted for Film first! Trust me....you don't want to miss out on the antics of Aubrey and Cole!
Both books are easy lighthearted reads, that will keep you amused, highly entertain and snickering the whole way through! Overall 4.5*
I haven't laughed out loud since I read the another best selling author, first name Janet, those of us who read romantic comedy know of who I speak. The two main characters in this book have a friendship not many of us have shared since high school. Grab your copy today. Read, laugh, and enjoy the the crazy.
Love this book. So funny. I read book books in one day because I could not put it down. This is a must read And I will read more books from this author. 😃
