Elayne Engelman Schulman was born and raised in the Bronx. She attended college at Hunter College where she met her husband Ira. Together they attended Rutgers University and raised their three children in Somerset and Metuchen N.J. Elayne taught advanced math and Philosophy and gravitated to the early implementation of computers in education.After teaching she joined IBM where she supervised the development of educational software. As an evaluator for the National Science Foundation she helped evaluate math and science grants awarding millions to innovative projects.Elayne has also enjoyed many years of knitting and quilting gifts for the special people in her life. Her support for her family is her highest value. A memoir class sparked the development of "Journey."Elayne is the author of 5 young adult computer books and several children's stories. Journey is an homage to her parents and a record of memories for her beloved family and the future.
