初读时因为沃格林以人本哲学视角看待基督教是挺失望的。看他批判诺斯替时觉得他还像基督徒。但读完还是获益匪浅。廊下派的“世界城邦”构想就是普世一体化的巴别塔。最终由罗马帝国实现。西塞罗认为认同罗马秩序的都是罗马民族也是如此，奥古斯丁则反对这种观点，尊重族群的多样性。
