रामदास: विद्यार्थी जीबन पर आधारित शिक्षाप्रद उपन्यास
‘रामदास’ नाम का 19 वर्ष का लड़का दसवीं कक्षा की बोर्ड की परीक्षा में तीन बार फेल हो चुका था। वह एक आवारा व उद्दंड लड़का था। उसके आचरण विश्वसनीय नहीं थे। वह बचपन से ही उग्र स्वभाव का था। विद्यालय की खिड़कियों के शीशे तोड़ना, पढ़ने के लिए बाध्य करने वाले शिक्षकों पर हाथ उठाना उसके लिए सामान्य बातें थीं।
एक दिन उसके विद्यालय में एक आदर्शवादी अध्यापक का आगमन होता है जिन्हें अंग्रेज़ी विषय पढ़ाने के लिए नियुक्त किया जाता है. वह अध्यापक रामदास की उद्दंडता पर अंकुश लगाते हुए उसे ट्यूशन पढ़ाने लगते हैं। इसी बीच रामदास की ही कक्षा में पढ़ने वाली एक सुंदर छात्रा ‘रंजना’ से रामदास को प्रेम हो जाता है और रंजना भी रामदास को पसंद करने लगती है.

78 books44 followersLaxman Rao, the author of 30 Hindi books, completed his postgraduation in M.A. (Hindi Literature) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). He has been awarded by various trusts and organizations.
Also, he was invited to the President House to meet
former President of India Smt. Pratibha Patil along with his family on 23 July, 2009.
In addition to his achievements, he has also been invited to many schools, universities, educational institutions, corporate seminars and NGO's as a guest lecturer.
Born to a farmer in a village in the western state of Maharashtra, Laxman Rao left for Delhi in 1975 to fulfill his dream of becoming a writer. He worked as a labour, washed dishes at restaurants and finally managed to open a shop in 1977 to sell paan (betel leaves), beedi (hand-rolled cigarettes) and cigarettes on Vishnu Digamber Marg, near ITO in New Delhi. After a few years, he started selling tea as it was more profitable.
He worked hard to publish his books, but all his meetings with publishers ended in disappointment as nobody was willing to bet their money on a book written by a roadside vendor. Undeterred, he saved up enough to self-publish his first novel in 1979. Turbulent lives, the struggle to rise above grinding poverty and the ordinary pleasures of life are the themes on which Laxman Rao's novels, political essays and plays are based.
His best-selling novel ‘Ramdas’ which was first published in 1992 - explores the complexities of the teacher-student relationship through the story of a young, wayward student from Laxman Rao's village who drowned in a river. The book now in its third edition, has sold more than 4,000 copies till date.
In May 1984, Laxman Rao met the then Prime Minister of India Mrs. Indira Gandhi. She appreciated his work and encouraged him to write more. When Laxman Rao expressed his wish to write a book on her she insisted that the book should be on her work rather than a commentary on her life. Enthused by this meeting, Laxman Rao wrote a play based on the tenure of a Prime Minister titled 'Pradhan Mantri' (Prime Minister) but she was shot dead before Laxman Rao could present it to her.
The tea-selling author has won many awards and also received recognition from former Indian President Mrs. Pratibha Patil.
"His books are doing very well on our site. We are happy that authors like Mr. Laxman Rao have found a platform such as ours to sell his books," a spokesperson for Amazon India told the BBC.

एक चरित्रहीन व आवारा लड़के का एक आदर्शवादी छात्र बनकर उभरना गांव के सभी लोगों के लिए कौतुहल का विषय था. इस घटना ने मुझे इतना प्रभावित किया कि मैंने रामदास के जीवन पर उपन्यास लिखने का निर्णय लिया और कुछ ही वर्षों में ‘रामदास’ नाम से ही अपना पहला उपन्यास लिखा. परन्तु यह उपन्यास पहली बार सन 1992 में प्रकाशित हुआ और अब तक इस उपन्यास के तीन संस्करण प्रकाशित हो चुके हैं. पाठकों ने यह उपन्यास बहुत पसंद किया.
‘रामदास’ एक आवारा व चरित्रहीन लड़का था. उसके आचरण विश्वसनीय नहीं थे. रामदास जैसे बिगड़े तथा चरित्रहीन छात्र को एक अध्यापक ने आदर्शवाद का पाठ पढ़ाकर समाज में नया उदाहरण रेखांकित किया. अध्यापक के मार्गदर्शन में रामदास के जीवन में बहुत परिवर्तन होता है. रामदास में हुए इस अकस्मात् परिवर्तन के फलस्वरूप उसी की कक्षा में पढ़ने वाली एक छात्रा ‘रंजना’ रामदास की तरफ आकर्षित होती है. रामदास-रंजना एक दूसरे से प्रेम करने लगते हैं. परन्तु छात्र जीवन में अक्सर होने वाली ऐसी घटनाओं के दुःखद परिणामों से दोनों ही अनभिज्ञ थे. उनके अध्यापक उन्हें समझाने का अनेक प्रयास करते हैं. छात्र जीवन की स्तिथि बोध को साफ़-साफ़ दर्शाने वाला यह मार्मिक उपन्यास अपनी रचना-संरचना में अद्भुत है. यह पुस्तक जहां एक ओर छात्रों के भविष्य पर प्रकाश डालती है, वहां आज के माहौल में अध्यापक जीवन को भी उजागर करती है.

Should I read this book where as so many I thought good writer is there. I must say that reading this book is a very good choice and he got added to my good writer list. The way book start is very much ordinary. I think ordinary is new adventure these days. While going through this book I can see why Laxman Rao is good because he force you to walk in the valley of your memories. Writer capture very small small details of the emotion that his characters might be going through. Love Story between Ranjana and Ramdas you can see in everyday life. The way there love story starts and the way it ends is very interesting. This novel will give you very good understanding of how young boys and girls who fall in love in there young days behave and what they think.
I must say this is an excellent read.
