Wade married Victoria in a marriage of convenience - so that he could improve his image in business and so she could cultivate wealthy connections (and after a year, earn a million dollars). But now she's been in an accident and has amnesia and her personality is completely different from before. Before the accident, Wade had absolutely no problem staying out of Victoria's bed, living a separate life and letting her do her thing (including discreet affairs). Now though, Wade can't seem to stay away from Victoria, doesn't want to be apart from her and has no desire to end the marriage as he'd originally planned. But could the amnesia alone explain Victoria's drastic personality change? Or could it be more than that?

Well this is a different set up. There's the amnesia, yes, which is fairly well handled, but then there's the fact that . That I think is rather unique. Overall this was a pretty decent story, but suffered a bit of fast forward moments, telling instead of showing and maybe a few corny moments...like when the hero pretty much bounces his penis off the heroine's hymen, several inches up inside her and realizes she's a virgin...yeah, that's an old school misconception. I don't remember if the author's other stories were similar or not...I'm thinking not. This one had a lot of potential with a very clever twist, and while it delivered a sweet romance with an angsty separation there at the end, it didn't really surpass the 3 star mark.

I received Stranger in His Bed as part of a Goodreads giveaway.

Victoria Masters wakes up in the hospital with amnesia, attended by a chilly but devastatingly handsome stranger who calls himself her husband. As she attempts to reinhabit her prestigious life as the wife of a successful businessman, she struggles to piece together her past and her frought relationship with the enigmatic Wade. For his part, Wade has difficulty reconciling his cool, wayward wife of old with the warm, vivacious woman who has taken her place. Victoria and Wade fight their attraction with little success, but as Victoria's past and the circumstances of their marriage come to light, will they be able to survive?

You know, I was kind of willing to buy into the amnesia plot. It's a little ridiculous, but hey, what are romances for if not a bit of escapism? And even as a city girl, I'm a sucker for a good contemporary Western romance. The "evil twin" trope, though, had me rolling my eyes and crossed the line into soap opera territory. I think the story would have been more interesting had Victoria/Laurel just been a legitimately shitty person whose tragic accident changed her life for the better. It didn't really cross the "OK" threshold for me.

Stranded in His Bed by Lauren Canan was not exactly the mystery that I was looking for. I had hoped that it would have taken a different path yet it led the reader straight to the very predictable ending. I will say that it was not all bad though and actually has potential to be better. I am not familiar as to wether or not the author has written other items but if so, I am willing to read them so that maybe I can grasp the writers writting style and technique. I felt that this would be more enjoyable for those who like to watch daytime soap operas. Certainly, there are people who would disagree with me over my review but one must ask if it could be the reqd r or the writer who just does not seem to get it. Maybe it was me. It is worth the read though because it is a fast paced one. I just wish the writer would have tied to get our attention on something or someone else so that we did not already know the outcome well before the ending.

Great

I won a copy of this book from Goodreads, I was not required to give a favorable review. This was great story about mistaken identity that happened after a series accident. Laurel was approached by her aunt to be her\Victoria, who is in a marriage of convenience to a millionaire. Wade thinks she is Victoria and believes her amnesia caused the personality change. Read to see.

I confess I read only the beginning and the end... but I just lost interest in the story after the "big twist" became clear to me after a couple of pages. I only read the ending to see how right I was. I guess this might be a nice story, but definitely to "soap opera" for my present tastes. I would have liked it better in my teenage years.

I received this book from a Goodreads giveaway.

It was a quick, easy read with some nice build up in the romance between the two protagonists. I wish it had been a little less predictable. The ending was also a little abrupt for how emotionally hurt Wade should have been regarding his previous relationships (sorry for being vague, I don't want to write any spoilers!).

Three stars may be a little generous but I will stick with it. It was going ok until the end. It felt a little rushed.

Ok

Now while this book started off a little bit slow, the author was still able to keep my interest. I figured out the storyline to an extent with the hints that were mentioned. I was glad that both Wade and Laurel got their happy ever after

Received this book free for a review. I loved the story. Victoria was in an accident and does not remember her past. Her husband shows up at the hospital and she doesn't remember him. There are some good twist to this story. I would differently recommend this book.

Who Is He?

The accident robbed her of her memories. Her husband was cold and aloof, but he was the only one who took care of her after the accident. Could they build a relationship on that? Strong characters, enemies to lovers, satisfying ending. Enjoy!

Okay yeah the plot twist was a tad predictable, but honestly it was a quick, engaging read that I enjoyed. I do think the ending was a little too quick.

Loved the story even though it's a little difficult to believe that would really happen. Nice romance and HEA ending.

Just 3 words. Inconsistencies, inconsistencies, inconsistencies. #sorry but this was worse than a soap opera. It was just surreal. The plot twists were unbelievable. I was like what did just happen?. And let's not talk about the protagonists, they were not even annoying, they were just plain. I didn't feel anything remarkable.
✘Just a side note: why would you use a condom so randomly? One time yes, the next no, then yes again and then no again.
