Set in suburban London during the glorious electric eighties, Close is the story of three forty-somethings; Pete and best friend, Ralf who both dream of making it as an electronic music band and Ozzie, the rocker with a big heart, a nasty temper, and a foul mouth. The three pals live each day to the full, working during the day and interacting with the countless colourful people that come into their lives and when the evening sets in, they always find themselves at Mike’s Music City, a trendy pub on the high street that features a secret underground Art Deco-themed ballroom where the best local bands play live. Things begin to spiral out of control when Pete’s world comes crumbling down around him, Ozzie follows a path that can only lead to disaster, and Ralf’s dark and troubled past comes back to haunt him, putting everyone’s life in terrible danger and causing them to question who he really is. Faced with the responsibility of now having to protect those he loves, Ralf is forced to embrace his tenebrous persona once again, as he battles to save not only himself but his corner of the world and all that lies in it. With loyalties questioned, friendships in jeopardy, and the body-count slowly rising, Ralf feels all alone in a frightful and bloody fight for survival, and when it all gets out of hand, Ralf is forced to return to where it all began as he must uncover a mystery that is for him only. His friends maybe ‘Close,’ but his enemies are closing in!
