About the author

Paul Allen Pearce is the author of many training books about specific dog breeds. Paul comes from a family of dog lovers that often took in strays. Both of his parents grew up with many animals and passed on intergenerational knowledge to their children.

At an early age Paul and his siblings were taught to care and train their family pets. Raised around all sorts of animals, his curiosity to work with dogs grew. After returning to the U.S. and purchasing his own dog, he realized he didn’t know as much as he could, thus began his journey into full-time dog training and research.

Dog training is his passion. He loves dogs, animals, and the wonders of nature. He says it’s a pleasure to write about his passion and share what he has learned. He hopes that his readers enjoy and learn from what he has learned, thus enabling them to improve their relationships with their dogs.

Traveling through thirty countries and many U.S. states has helped him to broaden his perspective regarding animal behavior and treatment. He asks that people care for all animals, not just their loving dogs.
He spends his free time outdoors with his dogs, exploring nature and expanding his knowledge of life and dog training.

I brought my little friend - a Mini Aussie puppy - home not so long ago. I felt like I needed to teach him the right things in the right ways and in search of instructions I stumbled upon Miniature Australian Shepherd Expert Dog Training. I loved this book from the very first lines!
To train your furry dear friend is not such an easy task. A good way to reach a favorable outcome is by approaching training as a serious endeavor, but with a place for smile and joy in the course of a process! I found this read very helpful in training my Mini Aussie and clarifying so many important things to me.
The book is greatly structured. It consists of II parts and 32 chapters, with quotes and pictures. The sequential order of the chapters gave me the exact plan of breeding my little fur ball of happiness! Very practical, written in a completely comprehensive manner, the book became my source of knowledge on so many important questions: where to start, what commands my Mini Aussie should learn, how to understand my dog’s body language correctly, how and when to use treats and rewards, and a lot more.
All the chapters of the book are significant and useful, but my favorite is definitely “Dog Communication”: the art of “dogmanship” and its principles fascinated me! Being able to isolate my human emotions and put the needs of the dog at the forefront- what should be more valuable?
If you are looking for a book with helpful working advice on training your Mini Aussie, if you want to avoid the typical mistakes of dog owners and train your puppy effectively, this step-by-step guide is a must read! We enjoyed it together: my little Jade and I.
