He then decides to take Past life regression sessions where he meets Dr Myra. What will happen when Vikram comes to know he is an Indigo child?
Firstly, I loved the cover and the title of the book. It's interesting and appealing. The way the story started, it was amazing. It's a heavy read, but the author made it easy. one can easily connect with the book. I loved the plot of the story. It's full of twists and turns. The style of narration is incredible. The storyline is interesting and out of the box. The language used by the author is simple and easy. The story is fast-paced with a crisp flow. The characters that the author made were strong, and each of them had their own importance. I loved Dr Myra's character the most. Calm and composed one. Also Loved How Vikram wanted to connect the dots from his past life. I disliked the way the story ended, waiting for the next book to know the more about the story. I loved how Dr Myra solved the puzzle, the past life sessions.
It's an amazing read, full of suspense, and a combination of mythological and contemporary fiction. Interesting plot, simple language, strong characters and an amazing story with a different concept.
If you love reading suspense, go for it. Waiting for the next part.
The book, the plot it reveals, the narrative competency of the author shall take you on a unforgettable journey . It’s unique, the writing methodology and the capability of drawing reference from themes that are decorated with spirituality, myths.
The snippets of hypnotherapy, blended with psychological ingredients gets the narration those vital twists that make the readers get into a conversation with the book.
Vikram always knew he was special. As he embarks on his journey of life, he has instances serving him proofs. The journey brings him to Dr. Maya, an interesting character herself. With her help, and reminiscence with his previous lifes, he understands the meaning of his present life. The question here is, will he be able to fulfill his karma? Will he be able to fulfill the purpose of his present life?
The readers will be enthralled with the winds of past shaping the present.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book and absolutely loved my first read by Vikram. This is so beautiful written with such wonderful and very well developed believable characters that once I started reading I couldn 't put it down until finsihed . An absolutely dark, gripping and explosive story with lots of twist and character development so unlike other psy thriller I read before . This book hooked me in from the very beginning with the great plot and the well defined characters that made me feel like I was peeking through a window watching as their story unfolded!Just the way I love it and ...it's definitely a must read !!!
To begin with, the cover attracted my attention at the first sight. It's so charismatic and calming at the same time.
To come to the plot of the story, reading this book was an absolute delight. The author has made fruitful efforts in building a strong story base with powerful characters. It was a page turner. At no place did I find that the story is being dragged. Infact, I was unable to put the book down.
The book has introduced the new world concept of Indigo children, along with touching on various spiritual topics such as chakras, soulmate, twin flame, perfect partner, reincarnation etc. I am personally fascinated by all of these, which further enriched my reading experience.
I could not find any loophole in the story. There were no ends loose.
The author is a fantastic story teller. I am waiting for the release of the next part of this story.
To anyone who is interested in mythology and fantasy, pick this book up. You are in for a ride!
It was a very fast read. If this is a start to the series, then it cannot get better. I enjoyed this for the story and also the characters, especially Vikram and Dr Myre. Vikram was focussed , smart along with supernatural powers which weren’t used much in the story, good for a build up, keeps the one thinking about what could be next. Could hardly put this book down, was always in search of free time during office hours just so that I could read a piece out of this book and get more excited about the next part. Overall an entertaining read, great work author. Would obviously read the 2nd part.
Review points: 1) Nothing is straight line in this story, that’s what it makes it hard to put down this book. 2) There are many points at which you’ll have to connect the dots while taking a pause or stop. 3)It makes you think, it makes you question- just when you get the answers until the end of the story , one might say we may not even have the correct questions. 4) story telling skills put to best use.
Over all a good book, one might keep this book in the shelf among its favorite ones/frequent reads.
excellent fictional work. chapter 4 is the key chapter do not miss it. would definitely recommend it to others to read it and you would desparately want to read it's next part
Very intensive from the first chapter itself and it keeps you interested till the end... classically written and new way of storytelling.... must read novel.. especially chapter 4
one of the best and easy to understand fictional work which is based on beyond death world and thereafter. vikrams character is created in such a way that an actual movie can be made. one of our own superhero which is quite unique in his own way. super characters Dr.myra and Vikram.
The Awakening of an Indigo by Vikram is a book which is not only fascinating but also informative. The book tells us the story of a highly successful lawyer, Vikram who has been bestowed with special psychic and occult powers. Vikram though slightly aware of his purpose in life, is still seeking answers when he decides to meet Dr. Myra to learn about his past lives through the process of past life regression.
In the process, he discovers his connection to the various gods in Indian mythology and also learns about his karmic debts, past experiences, and the purpose of his life. However, this learning comes at a cost. He suddenly becomes aware of the negative energies that surround him and the evil powers that are conspiring against him. Quite obviously, his life is at risk but, he is determined to chart his own course.
The book is a perfect blend of mythological and contemporary fiction. It is written well and is a short read just over 150 pages. The plotline is pretty good and the language of the author is flowy and simple. The book will appeal to people who are drawn to things like mythology, spirituality, past life regressions etc. It is a perfect combination of suspense and drama which is bound to lure the reader right to the end. I will definitely recommend The Awakening of an Indigo to fellow book lovers.
I am an introvert and I think probably for this reason I love reading dark psychological thrillers! Recently I finished reading ‘The Woman in the Window’ – I didn’t enjoy the book because it was not gripping with its sweeps. Anyway I keep browsing Internet for interesting psychological thrillers that can fascinate me. On Amazon Kindle I came across this book – The Awakening of an Indigo by Vikram. I read the blurb and then bought it, since on Amazon Kindle prices are discounted.
The lead character of the novel is Vikram. He is a brilliant but unusual guy. If you have read ‘The Shining’ of Stephan King, you will probably better know what I meant to say about this chap. Anyway coming to the story, Vikram becomes orphan at the age of 11 years and thereafter his brothers take care of him. There is something occult and supernatural thing about him – and he knows it. But why – he doesn’t know? So basically it is a discovery for him – he needs to find about his life, its purpose, his karma in all the births and so on.
When he begins going to a clinic for regression and some spiritual therapy, he comes face to face with some amazing and bemusing facts about his life. There he befriends a lady doctor called Myra. She shows special interest in his case – why – was there love between them. You got to find out that as well. In the therapies, it comes first that he is an Indigo child – it means a special kind of child with some brilliant powers. He is not a superhero but he can be one if his powers are guided and used properly.
So… will he be able to handle his success or power or brilliance. Full of interesting events about past life and karma and sweeps, this light novel makes a heady cocktail of darkness, intensity, psychological exertion and god’s blessings. I doubt this novel is based on author’s life since the character and his name are same – Vikram. I enjoyed reading it.
Final takeaway is that you will learn much about past-life things and re-incarnations, this book will enhance your knowledge about Indian mythology and indigo children.
O boy, i have a lot to say about this book... especially to the author... (If he can take positive criticism)
I read the reviews on good reads before buying it and found that most people are positive about it. I was really excited to read it... But to my disappointment, the book is nothing but a big mess! I am really wondering how the book got such good reviews.
First off, ironically, the book is about connecting the dots.. literally first page of the book starts with the famous monologue of Steve Jobs about "connecting the dots". But sadly the book itself fails to do so. There are soooo many subplots and tangents that are left untounched once started throughout the book... For instance, what happened to the fact that protagonists is son of Sun God? Or the fact that he can predict the future events? Or about Lord Shiva himself blessing him through some relic he found randomly?? What about the boon he received and refused to tell about it to Dr. Myra??? What about the baby in the dream??? What about the "Krishna consciousness"??? About some random feathers appearing telling him that he is protected by some angels??? About purpose of his life being to start a family??? Hooded entity?? Weired dreams??And, trust me, there is many more such subplots which are literally unattended after 3-4 pages of starting them...
Moreover, I am not fan of the writing either. On many instances, i felt the conversation between Vikram and Myra rather robotic. On other instances Dr. Myra seems like overintested in Vikram's story and past. And what is up about Vikram smoking cigarettes?? Oh my God! It really becomes annoying after a while! It has no special purpose and yet on every other page Vikram is smoking cigarettes! There are many such instances where unnecessary details are given which do not contribute anything to the story. Just to give an example, in the last chapter, Dr. Myra sends Vikram a funny video and he replys it with laughing emoticons. I dont understand the significance of this and many scenes like this. Another thing is almost 2 chapters are straight giving information about "chakras". Author could have exaplined it in short and kept it relevent to the story. But i felt like reading some kind of spiritual guide rather than reading a novel
I did find some interesting things though. Some stories which were creatively put in as a part of Vikram's past life experiences caught my attention. Book is short and i was able to finish it quickly. Author was able to generate curiosity about the mysterious girl in the last chapter (which is why probably i would be reading next part too). The new thing author did in the book was to add references to links where he found out about the stories. Respect to Author for that. Cover of the book is also interesting and kudos to graphic designer. Title is appealing too.
Overall, i would really appreciate if the author brings "the dots" in one plane so that i can connect them. Or maybe it is my small thinking mind which is not able to grasp what author is trying to tell and not able to see the bigger picture. And if so, i apologize but really not able to understand the 4-5 star reviews the book has got.

The Awakening of an Indigo takes us on a journey with Vikram, a special child with special powers. Over the course of 27 chapters, the author explains the turmoil inside Vikram and his journey of self-discovery. Vikram is a lawyer in a prestigious law firm and is successful at everything he does. He often finds himself in troubling experiences and faces difficulties to understand his special powers. He could foresee the future and acknowledge fake people. Vikram knew he was different than other people. This and his unexplainable encounters with special powers made him search for his purpose in life. He realizes that he has psychic abilities and consults Dr. Myra, who helps him through this time. The book is filled with questions about past life and multiple regression therapy sessions and other musings.
MY VIEWS
The book kept me hooked from start to end. You feel every ounce of what the character is feeling. I was new to the concepts explained in the book, but it took me no time to understand them and still be in flow with the book. The author has written the book amazingly. The story starts with various chapters of just Vikram and Dr. Myra communicating. The communication makes you understand the character of Vikram in depth and also helps you to know some things about Dr. Myra as well. The book is written in crisp and relevant sentences. Whenever you think you know something, the book proves you wrong. Especially in the end when you think you are about to know something the author leaves you on a cliffhanger.
CONCLUSION
I am not big on Mythological books, but this Mythological fiction made me revisit my statement. I loved this new way of writing. I would highly recommend this book to everyone. The work, the author, has put in is commendable. From the storyline to the characters to the writing everything is a work of art. I am eagerly waiting for the next book for more revelations and facts about Vikram and Dr. Myra that I don’t know yet.

My opinion: I am not a very big fan of genre Mythology but still I have read many books of such genre. So I decided to give it a try. I felt thankful to my self for picking this up and the author for writing it. The book is blend of Mythology, suspense and a lot of drama. Pros: The title of the book does go with the storyline, cover is very attractive and beautiful- it actually defines the beauty of the book. The characters are portrayed well in depth, also the writing style is quite different from other mythological books which doesn't make the book boring or bulky at any point. As we all know,Mythological books are supposed to be fat and bulky but I really appreciate that this is very short, interesting and gripping read. Highly recommend to everyone, also to people who have a bad taste for this genre, I am quite sure this book will definitely change your opinion.
Cons: I really there would be more vivid characters and sub-plots in book. I wish I read the other parts very soon.
The Awakening of an Indigo "by Vikram is a perfect amalgamation of mythology, supernatural elements, written in a fictional way. The book talks about the concept of an indigo child who is blessed with supernatural abilities, his past lives and reincarnations. the plot centres around the journey of Vikram, the protagonist who could see the past and future, wanted to find out the real purpose of his life, to know about the meaning of his precognitive dreams, so He met a psychologist Dr.Myra... who unfolded his real identity as an INDIGO Child as the story progressed. The plot of the story is very intricate. One won't be able to predict, what will happen next. Completely well-researched book as well as it's fast pace holding my attention till the very end, making me think about the facts of past lives & incarnation. Though sometimes, Mythological elements with the extra detailing of the book seemed to be a little-dragged &inconceivable. Other than that, it was a mysterious read for me.the story is well narrated and the mentions of different spiritual facts make it more connectable. Personal views::somehow, I was able to connect all the dots within this story, perfectly woven in the book.vikram's character, his journey for self-discovery was quite relatable for me.
Can't wait to see how the story goes in the upcoming book.
My Rating: 4.5/5

I will definately recommend ' The Awakening Of An Indigo' to everyone. ♡ ♡
What caught my eyes was the prompt and thrilling blurb and the gorgeous cover of the book.
Everyone wants to be a special child with special powers. Vikram is one the extraordinary.
With great powers, comes those great villains also. Hence, troubled by the nightmares which turned him into Insominac, he goes to Dr. Myra for help. Through past life regression process Dr. Myra helps him to remember his past life Karma- good deeds and bad.
His explanation of past lives and trying to figure out what is wrong with him and what is his origin, and What is his purpose on earth, is the story of the PART 1 of the book.
The key point of the book is when Vikram opens up about his past lives. A few pages of treat for mythology fans.
But overall, It was a good ride for me. Various research on Greek and Indian mythology done by the author was upto the mark. Whenever those moments came, the book took a high speed.
There are a whole information about "chakras". For those who are interested and curious about spirituality, the book would be a treat.
Anyway the concept of 'Rebirth" and past lives was gripping to an extent.
This is a story of Vikram, a successful lawyer in a well established law firm of the city. Vikram had always been a lonely child and had trouble making friends. He use to have strange unexplained experiences which could be termed at clairvoyant capabilities. He also exhibits abilities of being extremely determined and discerningly inventive.
Due to his abilities, he always stood out of the crowd and was misunderstood by his peers, parents, teacher and relatives. Vikram always knew he was different and had abilities to see his past as well as future life. He was haunted by some dark entities due to which he had trouble sleeping. So he decided to seek help from Dr. Maya, who using ‘Past life therapy’ helped Vikram decode his mysterious abilities and find his ultimate mission in life.
This book is an amazing read for someone with interest in Hindu mythology or wants to read about reincarnation, psychic abilities or reading future. For me, all these concepts are new and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I can’t wait for next part of this book to know what happens in the story.
A very innovative and creative story, that is inspired by Hindu mythology. Story is full of mysteries and twists. Character introducing was okayish but loveable characters, maybe because author wanted to make it simple and let us look at the bigger picture. While reading the story we can see that author did his homework on this. Being a big fan of the fantasy and /sci-fi genres it is always hard for me to imagine action-scenes, I have to re-read it many times, but this book has understandable, praisable and convincing action sequences, that is the one of the reasons I like this book . We can clearly see the hard work of the author coming from this book and speaking for itself. The perfect touch of modern writing and amazing grammar makes this book even more awesome. Chapters are small, so it is a fast paced read.
It is obvious that the writer has been influenced by several other successful authors before him including J.K Rowling, Dan Brown and movies by directors like Steven Spielberg and Zack Snyder. The elements are comfortably familiar but he has managed to bring a fresh twist to the proceedings which are pleasantly refreshing. Imagine watching your favorite tv show or re- reading your favorite book but having a completely new spin to it. Comfortably familiar but tensely unpredictable, that’s what the book is.
The book is very well written. The language is simple and the pace is good. It keeps the reader at the edge and asking for more. Once I started reading I just could not put it down. To keep a reader like me hooked on to a 300 pager is commendable. The author deserves an applause there! The storyline is fresh and has a lot of twists and turns. You might feel that you have figured out the answer, but then the story just moves in a completely new direction. It just keeps you guessing. I think that’s what makes this a near nail biting book.
The Plot is filled with interesting ideas that raise the intensity of the plot such as an Indigo child, reiki, regression sessions, chakras and much more.
The Author has done an amazing job at stitching the majority of the plot with just two characters. Vikram and Myra.
The idea of the sequel is to this book is interesting. I hope the writer raises the intensity of the work by adding more depth to the character rather in making him do more than drink tea and smoke cigarettes.
Title: The Awakening of an Indigo Author: Vikram Booklength : 166 Genre: Mythological Fiction

I am sold at that itself! 😛 I am a big Mythology fan and will read almost anything I can find about it.. you can imagine my excitement when I started reading this book! I wasn’t sure what to expect from this story after I read the blurb. But once I started reading it, I was absolutely hooked. The blurb absolutely doesn’t do justice to the book. The book completely exceeded my expectations and I did not expect to enjoy it the way I did. The reliability of protagonist, the dark world of black magic and power, the twist of mythology and the question of what is actually right or wrong, makes this book a complete package.
Vikram, a boy with superabilities has a power to seek into his past lives. What does this mean? How will he overcome it? Does he want it? How hels him to achieve this? All these things are answer in this book which has been portrayed extremely well. The author has shaped and transformed the ast and present very well. Love the book.
