In the research community of history of modern Chinese literature, Mr. Chen Zishan is known for the excellent exploration and textual research of historical materials. The articles collected in this book are generally his new discoveries in the research field of writers like Lu Xun, Hu Shih, Yu Dafu and Eileen Chang. The book consists of five parts, namely ''Lu xun and His Literary Friends'', ''Hu Shih, New Moon School and Beijing School'', ''Eileen Chang and Her Contemporary Writers'', ''Anecdotes of Old School Writers'', and ''Prefaces, Postscripts and Miscellaneous''. Starting from the relations and letters of the several writers with the contemporary people, the author goes from details to make textual research on the historical facts, analyze literature and depict the new scenes inside and outside the history of literature.
