Will he fight for what he believes in, or leave everything up to fate . . .
In the emotional sequel to Ruby in the Water, Peter Arnold embarks on a journey to uncover his family's secret history before his diagnosis proves fatal. Along the way, he's forced to question everything he thought was true about his parents, his past, and his future, including his own feelings about his childhood friend, Gwen. With one last hope at recovery, Peter will have to make the hardest choice of his life.
Lily in the Stone is a grumpy-sunshine, friends to lovers, NA sweet romance with lots of heartstrings. AUTHOR'S Although this is a sequel, you do not need to read book one to enjoy this story.
Yesterday I finished the first book in this series, Ruby in the Water. Today I have finished the conclusion to that book. This book starts right where the first one left off. Very hard to put down. The book is tragic but a well thought out book. I do wish some things that had happened hadn't but I guess you could say I look for the good in things. Well worth the read. Published January 1st 2018 I was given a complimentary copy of this book. Thank you. All opinions expressed are my own.
This was the 2nd book for this series. I loved this one. The 1st one was a little slow, but this one wasn't. Good story line, good character build. Had tears in my eyes. Made me mad. Goof all around.
This novel started only moments after the reveal of Ruby in the Water. The tension and twists of this story continued throughout, keeping the pages turning. I needed to know what was going to happen and I was surprised several times.
Finding out the meaning behind the title was a great way to end the story. I wish some things hadn't happened, but tragedy strikes in real life as well when we least expect it.
Lily in the Stone is definitely worth continuing Peter's story if you enjoyed Ruby in the Water.
I didn’t realize I was reading the second book in a series, but it didn’t see: to matter. I was engrossed and read it in one day, caring deeply about the two protagonists.
This continuation of Peter’s story from Ruby In The Water is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. The characters have matured and become people that you love and root for them to find their happy ever after. There are many twists and turns that will keep you reading no matter the time of night. I recommend this series as a must read especially if you or someone you know has a special needs child. I received this book from the author/publisher with no requirement for a review. All views are my very own.
A new author book, for me. Really enjoyed it. Loved that is was clean and interesting all the way through. Interested to read more of this author's work if it's like this.
Omg, this book is amazing and the perfect sequel to Ruby in the Water! So many twists and turns, you are filled with all the emotions! There is love, sadness, grief, anger... and then the Lily in the Stone to mend your heart back. This book, this series, has become my favorite series ever! This will stay with you for a long time... Perfect Story!
The great saga of Gwen and Peter. So many obstacles twists and turns. It's so well written and really gripping. Find a good place to settle down and read it in one sitting.
I just have to say, WOW, Lily in the Stone is an emotional book that will tug at your heartstrings. The first book in this two-book series was a little slow, but Lily in the Stone was not. I finished this book in one day and could not put it down. The characters were all pretty good, but I have a few things to say about Gwen, who was Peter's best friend, Gwen's boyfriend, and Peter's dad. First, I thought Gwen seemed like a flat character and didn't have any real emotion. She seemed just to be going on with the book without any of her own opinions or ideas. Second, Peter doesn't like Gwen's fiancé and that he is supposed to be a bad guy, but I didn't have any feelings towards him at all. I didn't like him, but I also didn't hate him; but I think we were supposed to hate him, but he just came off to me as a regular guy. And lastly, I had the same issue with Peter's dad as I did with Gwen's fiancé. Exa makes him seem evil in the beginning book, but I just didn't see it until the end of the book. Besides my issue with some of the characters, I loved Lily in the Stone! There were so much emotion and a bit of drama that really grips a person. I hope you all like Lily in the Stone as much as I did!
Things to mention: Exa describes how her husband abused her and how he forced her to have an abortion. A side character dies in an accident.
