Trail Walker Magazine Guide to the National Trails of Britain and Ireland

Rate this book
The 23 National Trails - the "official" long-distance walking routes of Britain and Ireland - cover 4000 miles of colour, interest and experience, and Paddy Dillon has walked every one of those miles to compile this book. The trails range from the well-known and gruelling Pennine Way to the much gentler Peddar's Way and Norfolk Coastal Path, the recently-created Thames Path and the magical but little-explored Dingle Way and Kerry Way in Ireland. Broad tracks and narrow paths lead through forest, bogs and downland, towns and villages, and beside rivers, lakes and coastline. The book deals with each of the trails in turn, giving schedules for dividing them into single-day sections and describing the type of terrain, points of interest, facilities and where to find accommodation. Information is also included on detailed maps, guides and contacts for each trail.
