The Magic and Mixology Boxed Set, #1-3

Rate this book
From USA TODAY Bestselling author... delve into a world of mystery, magic, and murder with the first three books in the Magic & Mixology paranormal cozy mystery series!

Welcome to The Isle...

Lily Locke has never believed in witches and wizards, ghosts and magic, shifters and vampires—especially cute blonde vamps with blood-intolerance issues. A rising star at a hotshot marketing agency in Minneapolis, Minnesota, all Lily knows is that she’s a PowerPoint guru, an Excel ninja, and a coffee-maker extraordinaire. Not to mention she’s next in line for a huge promotion.

All that changes when Lily’s assistant delivers a strange quiz to her, one titled A Magical Assessment for Normal Folks. With it comes the promise of a land she's never known existed. A land where Lily not only discovers her biological family for the first time, but a place where she can make a difference, change lives, and step into the role she’s destined to fulfill.

But first, Lily must admit she’s a witch. Then, she has to acknowledge that the tall, dark, and mysterious man who offers his help is strictly focused on business...at least, for now. When a body turns up dead and the next target is Lily, she must trust her powers and accept the help of her newfound friends. Otherwise, she'll never survive the trials of the magical island tucked far, far away in the frigid waters of Lake Superior.

Welcome to The Isle.

These three novels are a full-length, humorous cozy mystery featuring a splash of magic, a handful of witches, and a dash of romance. It's rated PG-13 due to mild language and some romance.

I started this series because I saw somewhere that it was a mix between Harry Potter and Stephanie Plum. I have to agree. It has a mix of harry potter’s secret magical world combined with the crazy, hilarious characters of Stephanie Plum. I fell in love with every single character. This series is funny, it’s action packed, with amazing characters all taking place on a magical isle that the normal world knows nothing about. It really is a great and fun read!

The isle

It’s one of those books that keep you wanting to finish the book in one sitting! Lily is young woman taken from the only world she’s known to one of magic and secrets. I love how each character comes alive in the book. You come to love the people as you see their struggles, loves, happiness, anger, weakness and strengths!

Outstanding book set

These first three books in this awesome series are incredibly hard to put down.

I literally want to live on the Isle and in Lily’s bungalow.

There are awesome, funny, interesting characters and as a fan of Annabel Chase; who recommended Gina to me I can’t say I was disappointed.

Truly wonderful

This is written so well that the images that are created are so vivid. It even had me laughing in places where people stared at me curiously. The adventures and characters are great and I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

A must read.

A fun read. Definitely a cross between Harry Potter and Stephanie Plum. A little magic from Harry and a hot guy named Ranger from Stephanie.

Unexpected

This story is not one I expected when I started reading. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read. It’s cute and quirky. But it’s got depth and heart.

Great story telling!

Storyline is great! The characters are well developed and easy to follow. Even though magic is involved, they are easily relatable!

No character development. Most of them are adults but they behave like teens. Annoying AF.

Amazing!

These books are amazing! They are fun and light hearted for the most part but, they also have love, drama and adventure. You will fall in love with the characters that Gina LaManna has created and I cant wait to start reading book 4.

Hello...I have questions

So many questions, but take that as a sign of a good book or should I day a good series. Each has ended with a HFN ending, but with the lead off to another mystery in the next installment.

What fun these three books were. Good versus evil magic and fun in the sun.

Lily Locke's life changes radically changes when two kooky women show up claiming to be her aunts a.nd that she must go with them to The Isle. After losing her high powered marketing job and having practically no family Lily impulsively decides to go with them. Lily discovers family she never knew she had, a world of magic she did not know existed, true love with a handsome Ranger, and a strength and power she never knew she had in helping fight evil magic. A truly enjoyable and fun read.

Great cozy mystery series! Just a warning to my Minnesota fam, this island in Lake Superior is enchanted to be tropical, so it's not really like reading about home.
