Quizás lo mejor que se puede decir de la novela es que es cortita y se ventila en un pispas. En fin, lo más flojo de Salgari, que ya suele ser un autor que no pasa de tener entretenimientos facilones. Un servidor puede no ser exigente y sabe disfrutar de una hamburguesa, pero En el mar de las Perlas no pasa de mero canapé.

I personaggi ricalcano quelli de Le Tigri di Mompracem, ma è comunque un romanzo godibile, non solo per la trama avventurosa, ma anche per le descrizioni di luoghi e esanze esotiche.

Entretenida,. Se lee rápido y tiene el pulso narrativo de un comic pulp. Puede ser la novela más (involuntariamente?) gay que he leído. Salgari se recrea en las descripciones de apolineos piratas tanto que parece que hay subtexto como para escribir un musical drag queen inspirado en todo esto.
Si buscas algo más que una historia ligera de aventuras ni te molestes.
