It was very interesting to learn more about the man that developed a writing system for the Cherokee language. It did feel very white-washed and makes me want to learn more about him from a Cherokee perspective.

It was interested to learn that this Cherokee was the same person that Sequoia National Park was named for in California. We have Cherokee in our family history, so I wanted my daughter to know about them.
