FORE! is a novela in the award winning Dev Haskell series.

Dev Haskell agrees to help an old high school pal who is being sued for copyright infringement. All he did was download a video and suddenly he's being sued for ten thousand dollars. Turns out the lawsuit is really a scam by an attorney and his disbarred associate.

In the meantime Dev has fallen head over heels for a woman addicted to workouts. She lost her husband a couple of years ago, leads Dev on and then suddenly threatens him with a restraining order! Somethings not right and Dev ends up out in California looking for answers.

Local police, the FBI things are about to come crashing down and guess who's right in the middle!

About the author

I was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, I still live there as well as in Dublin, Ireland. I've been a soldier, freelance journalist, tended bar, sold designer cakes, owned a painting and decorating company along with a number of other schemes and scams. If that doesn't offend you I also play bagpipes with the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band. All my books stand alone, read them in whatever order you wish. They are filled with the sort of oddballs we are all curious about, but wisely, prefer to keep at a distance. None of my characters will be saving the world from terrorism, international banking conspiracies or coups to take over the government. Rather, they inhabit a world just below the surface of polite society, characters with one foot on either side of the law. The circumstances they find themselves in are usually due to bad decisions, but bad decisions lead to interesting stories. They serve not so much as an example but as a warning to us all. As usual, Dev starts this adventure with wooing a beautiful and athletic woman but never gets to the desired third date; without any reason, she tells him that she no longer wants to see him. And an old friend asks for Dev's help with an extortion attempt from a legal office operating out of a post office box. As this short (159 page) novella develops, the woman and his friend's problem merge and Dev must travel to California to complete the investigation.

This is a novella, compared to the other Haskell stories, but I really enjoyed it. It was included with "The Office" ebook by Mr. Faricy, and I found it a very good read.

As always Haskell never disappoints. Always funny and pretty good at what he does. Hope some day he finds a decent girlfriend.

Fore! comes at the end of The Office. Another Dev tale where he actually works hand in hand with the police and in this one they don't take advantage of him and they do get the bad guy. Unfortunately, I kinda had this one figured out early on, but, like I said, it was included with The Office.
