How it looks, how it feels…and how it tastes?

My Mother Died…now who’s going to make Banana Bread is the first installment in the “Jecipes (Journal + Recipes) for Living Life with Positive Purpose” Series.

Sharon wanted to honour her mother as well as her mother’s love for baking by writing about grief parallel to the ingredients for a Banana Bread recipe.
This book is a personal journey that explores how grief can challenge one’s health, emotions, and relationships. As well, this book offers the reader opportunities for positive reflection through affirmations and questions that are provided at the end of each chapter.

Wow this book is different, inspirational, and healing. Each chapter of this book relates to a specific ingredient in banana bread (one of her mother’s recipes) and the author describes how the ingredient relates to her feelings regarding the death of her mother. For example chapter one is Stuck - referred to as Oil. Thick, lubrication, adds moisture. Then the author describes her ‘stuck’ feeling and how she did not want to get out of bed or talk to anyone. If you have experienced loss, I highly recommend you pick up this little healing beauty of a book. At the end of the book is the banana bread recipe.
