When you get past the date of the book and the vintage feel to it, you find a well crafted and designed tour book of France. The text and the pictures carefully illustrate the history and character one must feel when taking a barge tour of France.
The author firstly is passionate about his topic, and had a strong understanding of the best ways to experience the trip and us trying to convey it in an academic and fundamental fashion.
