I got this to help me build a songwriting unit for 6th grade, and it was exactly what I wanted it to be. It’s a comprehensive introduction to songwriting, with helpful analogies and simple terms. There are some concepts I don’t know that I’d introduce right off the bat, but I do appreciate the practice exercises in each chapter.
