Told with humor as well as seriousness, it is primarily a story of the various kinds of healing people are able to find at different stages in life. The contemporary story is set amidst flashbacks of English and American social history of the mid-20th century.

One of my favorite stories I have read in the past few years.
Loved that the author told multiple stories at once in different time periods!
The characters were interesting and the plot was very original, with twists I didn't see coming.
Also, includes some fascinating history. Great story and a fast read!
