Comic Book Summer

Rate this book
B.W. is a 13-year-old comic book fan, who discovers that the new writer on his favorite comic book lives across the street. Even more amazing, Stan Scheiner offers B.W. a summer job as a gofer. As the afternoons pass, B.W. learns more about the comic book business than about actual comic book writing, since Scheiner does not do a lot of writing. Deadlines loom and Scheiner’s personal life falls apart. In the end, the professional turns to the aspiring writer and they produce a fresh story about calling on one’s own resources to save the day. Over the course of the summer (and the story), B.W. begins to come to terms with his family, his view of himself, and that pesky fantasy life which begins intruding on reality a little too much.
