Stephanie Berget was born loving horses and found her way to rodeo when she married her own, hot cowboy. She and her husband traveled throughout the Northwest while she ran barrels and her cowboy rode bucking horses. She started writing to put a realistic view of rodeo and ranching into western romance. Stephanie and her husband live on a farm, located along the Oregon/Idaho border. They raise hay, horses and cattle, with the help of Dizzy Dottie, the Border Collie and Big Al, team roping horse extraordinaire.
This is a terrific collection! The stories are well-written, and touching (bring hankies with you when you start reading.) "Sugar Pine Cowboy" was sweet and enjoyable, even though I hadn't read any of the previous stories about Hope, Oregon. I'll be looking for more from Stephanie Berget. I especially liked Paty Jager's "Love Me Anyway". A terrific story about a determined man bent on loving and saving a strong woman despite her problems. Nicely developed, I liked that Melanie, though recovering from an abusive relationship, could stand up for herself and those she loved.
Many of these books have poor character development and weak or too abbreviated storylines. Not this one! Great editing, great writing and strong points all around. Highly recommended.
