From the time she was ten and tried to write her own detective series in the fashion of the Hardy Boys, Renée Pawlish has been developing her craft. Along with creative writing classes, Renée studied great writers like Dashiell Hammett, Rex Stout, Stephen King, Sue Grafton and many more. Once Renée graduated from college, she began her first novel. Now, all these years later, she has penned numerous books in a variety of genres.

Renée was born in California, but has lived most of her life in Colorado. When she's not hiking, cycling, or chasing ballplayers for autographs, she is writing mysteries and thrillers. She also has some middle grade novels waiting to be published.

Renée loves to travel and has visited numerous countries around the world. She has also spent many summer days at her parents' cabin in the hills outside of Boulder, which was the inspiration for the setting of Taylor Crossing in her novel Nephilim: Genesis of Evil.

Love these characters.

Reading about them always make me smile. Love to sit down at B52 and drink Fat Tire Beer and talk with them.

This is my first foray into Ms. Pawlish's writing. Despite the cover, I was a little unsure for a while whether the main character was male or female, since there was no description of him. Characters were okay, except the dumb brothers whose poker-playing dad named them "Ace" and "Deuce" was a little too precious. My biggest criticism was that Reed was able to question a hostile witness for a few minutes and upon his second visit to her, she admitted guilt with almost no coercion. Not happening in real life, I think. Nevertheless, Renee Pawlish has writing talent and I look forward to reading her novels.

This is a fun little story at Christmas time. Of course there is a mystery to be solved!
Reed learns that Nat, his favorite bartender/pre med student has been accused of cheating on exams. No one who knows Nat believes that she would do that. Reed is determined to find the truth.
As usual Pawlish teases us by making each person interviewed a suspect. We don't know the answer until very end.
This is simply another delightful little tale by Renee Pawlish

Short and to the point. Reed decides to help a friend prove she didn't cheat on a test in med school, and does some investigation with slight assistance from his friend Cal. All it takes is for the "Great One" to go into his detective more and all is revealed.
A cute or distracting side note is Humphrey, the black kitten that Willie and Reed have adopted, and his reaction to his first Christmas tree.

Like spending time with old friends, another enjoyable Reed Ferguson story!

Nat, the bartender at B 52’s, Reed Ferguson’s favorite bar, needs help, fast! Someone said they saw her buying the answers to a test in her premed class. While we all know Nat isn’t that kind of person, Reed needs to prove it to the school board who is trying to expell her, and do it quickly. Can he find the real guilty party, before Nat’s entire reputation is ruined. Another great short story from Renee Pawlish.

Reed is at his favorite bar, B 52s when the bartender Natalie asks him for his help. She has been accused of cheating on her medical exam, which she did not do. But there is a witness that places her with the person selling the answers to the exam. Can Reed proof her innocent before she gets expelled from school? This is a short read, but well worth the time to read.

Just in time for the holidays, Reed's parents are making their annual holiday visit and heart of gold Reed takes on a new "freebie" case. That's it, no spoilers from me. Another great Renee Pawlish short read.

Wrong Woman

This was a very short story, but a nice visit with the old familiar characters. I think I'm up-to-date with The Reed Ferguson mystery. Just waiting for a full length version.

OK short story.

Basic plot line with expected results but still a good time filler. Reed is getting better at sleuthing with each book. Some day he may be Bogie.

Okay

Another one of the short ones. Not as good as ‘The Big Steal’, but okay. The name play was on one of my favorite film noir The Wrong Man
