You can find Kindle publishing and marketing tips in myriad places. In this valuable, comprehensive guide, Rob Robideau has gathered the best of them in one place.

One of my favorite things about Rob Robideau’s “how to” books is the personal examples. That shows up in abundance here. He has gone through the Kindle publishing and marketing process multiple times. He explains what has worked for him. One example: He discusses multiple options for procuring a good design for the all-important cover (including important details like how to describe what you are look for from the designer and the dimensions of the image). He then walks us through what he did to get and select the cover for Incognito Toolkit, which has a perfect cover for the topic of that book. (The cover of Kindle Publishing Treasure Map is also great, so what he’s doing works.)

The other thing that shows up is the author’s honesty. Some books in this genre give an overenthusiastic cheer to every marketing strategy. Rob Robideau says there are things that do not bring a lot of value for the time. (See his section on social media, among others.)

The personal examples throughout not only add credence to his advice, but they make the book fun to read. His stories are simply interesting.

There are also lots of nuggets throughout of things that very few Kindle authors are doing or even thinking about—but should be—to increase their sales.

I have read three of Rob Robideau’s other books, so I was confident a book from him on Kindle publishing and marketing would be excellent. I was right to be so confident. Having gone through the process of publishing a book myself, I can attest that he knows and understands the process, and has lots of practical insight to share. He has me motivated to write book number two. Kindle Publishing Treasure Map is highly, highly recommended for both new Kindle authors and current ones looking for ways to kickstart sales.

Comprehensive and easy to read

I have read a fair number of books on Kindle marketing and publishing, and this one is definitely one of the best out there.

What works:

- Covers editing, publishing and marketing
- Detailed step by step instructions
- More than 100 links to external resources

What does not work:

- The images in the book were blurry on my Kindle paper white

I have certainly picked up a number of new tips and tricks to apply.
