This book is somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. It is useful in that you get to read many different opinions and strategies of different mushers (often ones that entirely conflict) and get to form your own opinions. It would not be good for introducing someone with no experience to mushing, as many of the simpler things such as fitting harnesses and how to tie dogs to the sled are not described. This book is a compilation of a whole bunch of mushers' opinions, and the book admits when the opinions actively disagree, telling the reader to pick whichever seems best to them.
