Pretty good. Definitely worth a read if you know Bill. He’s a character for sure, and still is. But overall a good chronicle of racing through the years.

Good book. This was a much faster and more interesting read for me than The Science of Safety. I actually had a point of reference with stock car racing, even though Simpson started in drag racing and moved to Indy raving. This book is mostly factual and stays away from the emotional storytelling that is typical of most autobiographical works (and thank God for that!). Basically, the book is true to its title.
The amount of anecdotes from other people grew in number the closer I got to the end, which got a little annoying after a while. Still a decent read if you're curious about how Simpson got started in the industry.

A worthy representation of the untameable life of Bill Simpson, one of the most important and influential men in motorsports history.
