Where De Hart's "Hiking South Carolina Trails" offers a precise summary of nearly every trail in SC, Manning provides a descriptive narrative of many of the Palmetto States well-known trails. The two books make great companion pieces. I'd read De Hart for reference and Manning for an armchair journey.
