The Graphic Art of Mary Cassatt seemed like a natural progression for me after reading Harriet Scott Chessman's lovely Lydia Cassatt Reading the Morning Paper. I love Impressionism, but had not seen any of Mary Cassatt's illustrations and sketches before I found this tome. She marvellously captures light, shadow, and movement, and there is such a vivacity captured in every single one of these pictures. A lovely book to linger over.
