My foray into medical-romances is not dissapointing me at all! Set on the island of Guernsey, a misunderstanding wrecks havoc on the marriage between a sweet gullible midwife and her aristocratic alpha doctor husband. I found them all very likeable characters including the om and ow, sincere dedicated people in their professional lives atleast. Overall the story has all the vintage harlequin features but the book further showcases that doctors are generally very busy and can also neglect family matters for the sake of their patients and that a successful marriage really depends on an understanding and sympathetic wife's willingness to stand by her husband.
