This book was published in 1988, when I was twelve years old. I remember a lot of these murals, some of which I hadn't thought about in years, and only on seeing them in this book realized they were gone. Some are still there! This was not only an interesting look at the history of murals in LA, but also a walk down memory lane for a long-time resident like myself.

This is an older book, but still interesting to hear how mural artists worked in the 70s and 80s. And how they funded their projects, chose their subjects and even their sites. Loved learning about the freeway murals.
