Kimberly Smith was born in Aurora, Colorado, and raised in Dallas, Texas. Nothing about her life has ever been simple or easy. She was raised by a single parent who was visually impaired. Kimberly always had an active imagination.
This book made me realize, this is the closest I will ever get to seeing an interracial theme romance on the hallmark channel! Just saying!! I came across this book by accident. The cover is what drew me in. I'm in love with the cover (frickin gorgeous) And I'm glad it did. This was an amazing, decent, and sweet interracial romance book. No stereotyping, No mentioning of color on every other page, No racists side remarks and wait for it, "No WM trying to get BW pregnant!" Woohoo!!
So, we have Victoria Timmons (42) head-strong, has a good job, hard worker and taking care of her mother. Hoping to get the promotion at work, only to be looked over by new employee, Jackson (32) once Jackson meets Victoria (It's On! He Has To Have Her) But there is one thing, he is keeping a huge secret.
Will Victoria still want to be with him after she finds out the truth?!? Well, you'll just have to read to find out.
Older woman/Younger man is not my kind of book but I really enjoyed this one. I will definitely be reading more from Kimberly Smith. For me, she did this story right! {Applauding You} Thank you for writing a wonderful book. The only negative I have is; the title. The title doesn't give this book justice. And this usually doesn't bother me, but needs editing.
My first read from this author, I enjoyed the storyline and the two main characters. The confusing part for me was, when did her mom and Jackson grandfather meet no storyline for them to be getting married. I loved Max grandfather.
Ok. It started out slow for me. I wasn't even sure I was going to like it. There were a few things I still need explained. However, I love Grandpa Jack. I wish he had a stronger presence in the story. He was funny and cute.
I'm curious to know who "Renee" was? Was she Victoria ' s alter ego? I was confused when the author used that name. Second why did Jackson call her Tori? Can I get an explanation as to where the nickname came from.
Overall, it turned out to be a pretty good read. I looked past a few grammatical errors and lack of punctuation to see a very interesting story. I would recommend this to my hopeless romantic friends and readers .
The premise was interesting but victoria was boring. She didn't have much personality. As readers we want to fall in love with BOTH leads!! The man is always lovely and sexy but the women either don't have any personality or they're insufferable. Black women are so lively, funny and smart. It would've been nice for victoria had more fire. Essentially Jackson fell in love with her labor at that job which isn't even remotely romantic. I say this because other than that she had no personality. She was so dull.
This was so right on so many levels, not only is it good reading but it move effortlessly and you are just into it like a comfortable pair of shoes. The chemistry is good and the dialogue is very adult that it is refreshing to get a story that just seems real like it fits. There however were a few typos ,but not so critical that it changes the story. This is reading friends worthy.
Both of the leads in this book were strong and emotionally grounded. If anything, the female lead was more intimidating. He knew there was something very special about Victoria from the the beginning. Jackson’s circumstances and lifestyle was so different Victoria was reluctant to commit. He had to keep negotiating. The supporting characters were great and his dad was a serial womanizer....great twist with that.
Nice May-December romance between older Victoria and younger Jackson(Maxamillian). I like how, their relationship developed and the fact that Victoria kept it a to herself, even from Jackson once she found who he really was from Grandpa Jack. He gave the story a nice witty addition
Victoria is a voluptuous black woman working to jobs to support her and her disabled mother. Much to her dismay she’s passed over for a promotion by a man outside of her company. She’s forced to show “Jackson” the ropes in his new position and a secret romance ensues.
I loved the nook. Great chemistry between the hero and heroine.
Several unexpected chuckles were coaxed out of me by this talented author during exchanges between Victoria and Jackson. It’s such a gift to read an author adept at writing chemistry between the main characters, not just formulaic sex or drama. Great holiday weekend read!
An amazing story about how you can be afraid and insecure and still find love
I liked that Jackson had to pursue Victoria and win her over! She wasn't easy like he was use to. I disliked the ease of the villains in this story, they were predictable! I disliked it wasn't an epilogue at the end.
I really enjoyed this story. The characters were interesting and I wanted to know them . I think the effort that the writer put into the work is evident. I hope to read more from the writer.
I liked the story and the characters nice interesting twist and turns. I felt like the ending was rushed and the beginning was slow. This author is only going to get better.
I really enjoyed this romantic story. I prefer my romances with mature characters and this story but the mark. Only noticed a few errors; but I will continue to enjoy future works by Ms. Smith if she continues to showcase her talent in this matter.
Page turner from start to finish. It is relatable to the working woman of color getting her hustle on. Vicky and Jackson are people you can imagine in corporate America. Romance, hot sex, and real life! Look out for Ms. Smith again!
This was a Good book. The writing was strong and the characters interesting. The Hero/Heroine had good chemistry. Only issue, no real issues came up so we could see how the H/H overcame adversity. Or the issue was glossed over.
This is the first time I've ever read anything from this author and I'm pleasantly surprised. I loved the characters. If this author writes any more interracial books, I'll be on them.
This wasn't bad. I don't think he should have been forgiven so easily for lying about who he was. We should read about the suffering he went through when found out about the baby. She also should have told someone about Doug making a pass at her. I will read something else by this author.
The storyline flowed well. The main characters were too predictable with not enough conflict. Obstacles were brought into the story but easily dealt we with.
Loved these characters, their strengths, romance and love. Great writing and storyline! Highly recommend this book! Enthralling with some mystery Darlene
I enjoyed the book, some edits needs to be considered especially where "Renee" should be "Victoria". Wished it could have been a longer story ---> Jackson knows how to please a woman in the bedroom and park bench ;).
Victoria is a beautiful woman who had applied for the Office Manager position at a wonderful company who handles internet security and programing. Her boss has decided a major decision and Victoria doesn't know yet but knows she didn't get the position she wanted. Her new supervisor - Jackson- is hot and she dislikes her. Jackson is posing as a new co-worker, but really will be the new owner of the company. Jackson is a force to be reckoned with but finds some new obstacles in his way as he tries to understand his new possible acquisition. A good read by a new author that had me page turning to see what would happen next. There is heat between Victoria and Jackson that is off the charts but what will happen when the business is sold. Great chemistry in this story, however I was alittle put out by events near the end pf the story.
As a writer myself I hate to give bad reviews but in this case I have no choice. I like the way it ended but it took me three days to read the book because it was so boring. I only stuck it out because I always like to know what happens with the couples.
