Two dear friends & colleagues of fifty plus years, Dr. Myra Levick and Dr. Maxine Borowsky Junge, co-authored the book. Four years ago these two women began writing letters and sharing stories about their individual single, independent living situations and aging.
This was the beginning of an epistolary- a book of letters. Sometimes poignant, sometimes sobering, their book weaves a message about the lack of knowledge available to this first generation living into their nineties.
Dr. Junge is 80, divorced, and lives with her dog in rural WA. Dr. Levick is 93, widowed 6 years ago, and lives in an independent living community in Florida.
This is a beautiful and important book about how these two strong and intelligent women confront and live as they get older. I've never seen a book like this and I found it very moving!
