It's just a lot of fun to try to pick out Helen and her brother George (look for Gyp and Barney, the 2 dogs, and the kids won't be too far away) in these crowded paintings. And since Miss Carter always wears pink - she's easy to find, too.
I had to order this copy from the outer limits of library reach, but how nice it is to hold and peruse - this beats the Open Library version all to heck, I'm afraid. I wish I owned these books, I could see myself coming back to them again and again.
Not that a whole lot goes on exactly. I think it's the intimation of stories that I find so interesting, even more than what is actually said. Helen knows exactly what she is doing, there are undercurrents and subtleties going on in this book that are really fun to wonder about.
I recommend it!
