What does it feel like when your life is suddenly turned upside down? What happens when a life event occurs that you were not expecting, and your personal and professional plans are thwarted? Nothing makes sense. The path you are now on is nothing like the one you were walking before, and there is nothing but the overwhelming darkness of uncertainty and fear. Meet Sage Knight, whose life has become this new reality, and is now faced with a trail of anxiety and confusion. It is at those times when one is seeking answers, she or he must be open to new possibilities. For Sage, it is going to a calming spot near her home in the town of Lake George in the Adirondack Mountain region and praying for a fresh direction. When her prayer is ans wered, she has no idea how her path will pave the way for another person in her journey to receive much-needed healing and a brand new perspective. Knight Shift is about the power of starting over, dealing with and overcoming adversity, and discovering new skills and abilities, sometimes even a career that was never considered before. Come along on Sage's journey and immerse yourself in her story and the characters whom she comes in contact with along the way. The shifts in our lives can become our greatest blessings if we allow them to.
A nice easy read that explores the depth of fate, destiny and despair at a time when personal and professional loss seemingly gets the better of us. While following along on the protagonist's journey of self-reflection, self-worth and uncertainty, we are afforded the opportunity to contemplate the times in our own lives when we felt spiritually compelled toward unchartered territories yet found we ultimately swam toward life's more beautiful blessings. To find out where we are truly meant to be, we must first be open to ALL of life's possibilities and to have not only the strength, but the courage to trust in something much grander than ourselves. That is a nice takeaway from this beautifully written debut novel.
I look forward to the sequel to learn even more about Sage Knight especially regarding her past and the relationship with her troubled sister not to mention, the great cast of supporting characters that certainly helped give Suzanne La Voie's novel a feeling of family, comradery, hope, love and more importantly, that of personal growth and healing.
Easy read that kept my interest. I picked up the book because it takes place in the Adirondacks and I enjoy vacationing there. Also, there is a note in this book from the author that there is a website, however, it’s not working. She also mentioned a second book would be coming out in 2018 with the same main character but I can’t find anything on the web about it. I was really looking forward to it.
