Billy Love's Wolfpack

It is 1928 in Oklahoma, and Billy Love Wolf is on the cusp of womanhood. Cousin Katerina Wolf and Aunt Elisabetha Wolf Braun reside in Germany. These three women are the voices of the Wolf clan, their complex relationships exquisitely intertwined. The pre-war years reveal an America seemingly uninterested in what is happening during Hitler's rise to power-yet there are exceptions, with the three women working against the dark regime. What are their secrets?

This book, the first in a series, is phenomenal. The historical facts of WWII, especially those involving Germany, are woven into an engaging story. The Wolf family, both in Oklahoma and in Germany, work together to rescue those family members who need to get out of Germany during the dangerous pre-war era as well as during the war. The author uses historical facts and excellent story telling to weave a story that is realistic and involves the reader to the point of increased heart rate and occasional tears.

Everybody knows, or at least they should, what happened during WWII, especially in Germany, and how things turned out. This story shows some of the behind the scenes stories of individuals.

Well worth the read.

Very interesting read. I couldn’t put this book down. I am also wondering about fact verses fiction.
