The illustrations made of collage and oil paint on gessoed watercolor paper, making the images seem to have texture from the paint strokes, and detailed buildings. But... the framing for the illustrations seem off to me. Also the theme...I understand that there are books that include angels, and can speak of religion, but I wouldn't have it in my classroom. And the author's approach to angels seems inaccurate in the sense that we can't see them. It also gives the false positivity that the problems we currently have in society will be fixed by angelic beings when it should be humans that should fix the damage we've caused.

This book was a gift, and was my introduction into a very special piece of news. Maybe that swayed my review a little. Maybe.

Mostly, I love books that teach children to look out for others, to have a little faith in people, and to see the good in life. And this book does that.

Very sweet ... so go ahead, read it to your favorite kidlet. See what he/she gets out of it!
