Cyril the Mandrill
Cyril is different from the other monkeys at the zoo. He is a mandrill and has unique facial coloring and markings. Everyone wants to see Cyril when they come to the zoo, bit the other animals think his colors are strange and make fun of him.
When winter comes, the animals are moved indoors and they quickly become bored with their stagnant surroundings. The monkeys soon realize that Cyril's colors are a delightful reminder of the outside world, and they come to befriend Cyril despite his differences.

Cyril the Mandrill is pretty neat because you can take the story in different ways and use it to address varying issues (or just simply read it 😆.) It would be an excellent tool for addressing moving, being the new kid, bullying, and being different. I love how in the end we see why being in different is beautiful.

What a wonderful monkey book. This is a very special monkey who is very wise and earns the respect of all the other little monkeys who think they are all that. He is beautifully illustrated and the story is very special. Monkeys of all ages will enjoy this book.
