Eff This Diet

‘Big girl you are beautiful”’

It feels like Mika is singing about me when I hear his song, except I’m not beautiful … I’m just fat!

When someone asks you to describe yourself, I bet you say, ‘blonde, brunette, tall, short.’ I just say fat.

You can picture me now: blonde, medium height, and fat. I didn’t want to be fat, no one ever does, but I am, and I have to either live with it or do something about it.

Believe me, I have tried to do something about it. I think I’ve spent enough money at ‘Fat Club’ over the last few years that I could have paid for liposuction AND a couple of tummy tucks.

So, enough about me. This is my story, and I hope you enjoy it.

I’m a USA Today Bestselling author who loves writing. I’ve released over 30 books under different pen names. I write all shades of romance, from my Chocolate Box Romances which are sweet and contemporary, through to my dark and suspenseful romances.

I write whenever I can and don’t know what I would do without being able to write my stories down. I work part-time in a pharmacy and I run an author services business the rest of the week so there’s been less time to write. But when I get a chance then I am all in and submerged in the life of my characters.

I love chocolate, wine and reading. And love it when I can do all three together. With two late teens kids, that opportunity doesn’t arise that often. Instead I become Mom’s Taxi for them.

This was a fun, entertaining, sweet story about finding the happiness within yourself despite what others think. Kayleigh is determined to not be part of the fat club anymore and is working her butt off (literally) she finds inspiration in her drop dead gorgeous roommate. And when she learns that he didn’t need her to take this journey she finds a new kind of happiness!

Diets suck. So is feeling like you're the biggest blimp in a crowd. I should know because i've been there not too long ago. It was possibly the hardest time in my life and i still remember the obsession of wanting to lose the almost 100 pounds i had added because i really liked food (thanks to some meds that made me hungry 24/7). Krissy V did a comedic twist to one woman's journey through her weight loss and goal of becoming what she thinks is her roommate's ideal of a perfect woman.

It has a beautiful message to this sotry and because of it, it made me truly enjoy this book. I wish i could come right out and tell everyone what the ultimate message is, but truthfully, it would destroy the connection readers would have with the characters and with this author's worlds.

It's a powerful story that i can only hope others will get the chance to experience at least once in their lives.

I was lucky enough to already read this book, I don't normally make comments till the book is out, this is my exception. ;) Anyone who's ever been on a diet, struggled and been frustrated will be able to relate to this story. It's funny as hell with a taste of romance. A must read.

This is a witty, light-hearted, short, fun read, which all of us can relate to at some stage. This story will strike a chord with anybody who has gone through life struggling with their weight, and is really an inspirational read. This is a well written storyline by this extremely talented author, and I highly recommend her work for all readers who struggle daily with this issue.

It was a shock when I opened the book for the first time and discovered the main character's name was "Kayleigh." When she started explaining her dieting woes and challenges, it hit home with me as I have also struggled with them. The story line was well-written and very enjoyable. I loved the little twist at the end. If you love short, witty, romantic reads, this one is definitely for you.

A funny and heartwarming short story about Kay who is struggling with her weight and low self esteem. During her journey we see her support people and her "triggers" for action and to reinforce her decisions to eat healthier and exercise. The end message was also very nice and grounded. The romance was also sweet. *I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. An inspirational story of one girl’s dieting woes. With a name such as Eff This Diet, I expected more humor in the story. Instead, I found it to be more of a serious, well written tale.

Kayleigh Davies has struggled with her weight most of her life. She has been through a ton of fad diets none have been successful. Her self esteem and confidence is very low. She goes to Fat Club every Monday and when she starts to see some results it motivates her to keep going.

Her roommate Darragh is very supportive and encouraging he thought she was beautiful anyway. Kayleigh has been in love with him forever.

As she gains her confidence with herself will she gain enough to find out if he feels the same way?

This book was a good show of emotions that people who are struggling with their perception of themselves. It was a little slow starting but it kept my interest.

Kayleigh Davies goes to Fat Club every Monday. Her life has been a series of diets and fads and low confidence. She has a crush on her roommate Darragh but knows that toe gym trainer is far out of her reach.

When Kayleigh accomplishes a small goal will it giver her the confidence to keep going or will the cruel words from others plummet her self-confidence even lower than it was before.

This was a great story about the struggle with weight and self-confidence and the link between the two. Kayleigh struggled with dieting and hated how hard it was to lose weight. Yet when she finally started getting somewhere her self-confidence went up.

I loved how supportive Darragh and Maeve were to Kayleigh. I loved how extra supportive Darragh was and how Kayleigh just couldn't believe all the things he was saying. He was such an awesome guy and the kind of guy that every girl dreams of!

Such a great book and I definitely learned a few things and got myself motivated to go kick some butt!

A story about a girl on a mission to lose weight...something I think most people with weight issues will be able to relate to. It re-emphasises the message that it's important to love yourself for who you are and not by the way you look.

An enjoyable read and I would recommend it to others.

Fun, fast, read about a girl struggling with her weight, which I think we can all relate to. And wouldn't we all want a man in our lives like her flat mate. I stuck between liked it and really liked it.

Over very fast and at 50% excerpts from another book started which is a pet hate of mine. Plays tricks on your mind that you only got half a book. I know, I know, but it's a pet hate of mine and annoying.

I received a copy of Eff this Diet, my reviews are my own and 100% honest.

Quick humorous read.

Eff this diet is basically showcasing what 99% of us women go through on a daily basis. It shows Kay's fight with her weight loss, the fight to get the man she wants, and the passion she has for life. This book is quick and straight to the point. It has elements of humour throughout. I really enjoyed the quick read.

A book we can all relate to. Was disappointed to find the story was a lot shorter than I anticipated as I didnt realise that half the paperback are snippets from some of Krissy's other books. The story itself was good but would have liked more... a bit more description and depth but appreciate that this is the authors story on paper and that cant have been easy.

I absolutely love the moral of this story. It’s pretty spot on. Kayleigh is a bit harsh with how she describes herself but if you really think about it, It’s how anyone who is unhappy with the way they look think. It’s a hard truth. This is how she saw herself no matter what anyone else said. But I love how she comes around and starts to lose weight for herself and not for anybody else. Of course having the right people to motivate her and support her (no matter what) was a big help.

Happy Reading 🖤

This story is a bit repetitive but has its moments. The main character is OK and I do find her on the funny side. The story line is good and the secondary characters are likeable.
