Timber Country Revisited

Rate this book
Passionately written and completely unconvincing, this 9<1/2>x13<1/4>" coffee-table tribute to loggers and logging is filled with color photos largely of ugly machines and uglier clearcuts and should mightily please those who agree with author/photographer Roberge (vis-a-vis the northern spotted owl) that "the welfare of humans far transcends the welfare of any other species," that the Endangered Species Act "decrees starvation" for loggers and that the Act "should be either repealed outright, or seriously amended." Published by (unsurprisingly) the Washington Contract Loggers Assn., PO Box 2168, Olympia, WA 98507-2168. Annotation copyright Book News, Inc. Portland, Or.
