About the author

Linda M. Vogt is a freelance writer/photographer and former community college journalism instructor. She has written and published over 50 feature stories for The Oregonian and done professional photography for several colleges and universities. In her career as an educator, Linda was the journalism instructor and adviser for the weekly student newspaper at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Oregon, for 21 years. Prior to that, she taught high school English and journalism at Gladstone High School in Oregon, and was a reporter for a weekly newspaper.
Linda produces concerts for a four-woman band, Motherlode, and teaches mandolin and ukulele at women's music camps. She is also a coordinator of the annual Northwest Women's Music Celebration, held at a YMCA camp near Portland, Oregon. Linda lives near Portland with her 15-pound terrier mix, Scout. When she's not busy writing, she enjoys camping, taking road trips, fishing and watching Oregon Duck football. (from the publisher’s website)

My friend, Annie, gave me this book to read. I really enjoyed the book! Love the witty banter between Riley and Marie. I appreciated their long-time friendship and kindness towards each other. The plot kept my interest, and I was surprised in the end. The island, scenery, and islanders were perfectly described, and I could easily picture everything.

Kudos for a lovely beach read! Perfect roadtrip book!
