In On the Wagon, the eighth installment in the Tales of Dan Coast series, Dan decides to give temporary sobriety a go … just to prove to himself and his friends that he can do it. When boredom overtakes him, he and Red decide to look into the disappearance and possible murder of a local woman. With no suspects, no apparent motive, no weapon, and a case that’s ten years cold, is she really even missing? Is she really even dead? Join Dan, Red, and Skip as they piece together what little clues they have and fumble their way through another action and humor packed case.
In "On The Wagon" we see a kinder, gentler, much more lovable Dan Coast, who is now into yoga and sobriety. Okay, so the yoga part isn't true, and neither is the rest of it, but he wouldn't be the Dan Coast that we've come to know throughout the series if it was. His character DOES 'grow' a bit in this book, and there are some real surprises, but true fans of Coast's stories won't be disappointed! Another great read from Riesel!
Another fun Dan Coast mystery. Hard to believe it but Dan is becoming less and less of a Dick! The story follows a similar scripted to the others in the series with witty banter and low brow jokes which just make the characters more enjoyable to me. The story kept me guessing until the end and moved along at a great clip. Keep the tales from the Dan Coast comming!
The only downside to Rodney Riesel's stories are the unexpected outburst 's of laughter while in public places, which garner strange looks from passer bys. Keep us laughing, Mr. Riesel, looking forward to the next Fan Coast adventure.
This book by Rodney Riesel is a very entertaining book with excellent characters that are also in other books of the Dan Coast Key West series. On the down side: there is too much vulgar language.
All of the usual characters are back and up to the same antics readers have come to expect. This time Dan does it all while giving sobriety a try. A good read that is quite entertaining. Ready to see what Dan will get himself into next.
Dan loves a tough one after the sheriff gives him a 10 yr old unsolved case but can works his skills and gets the husband who murdered both wife and lover also Maxine leaves Dan after a traumatic happening God bless from the land of pure Vida from Bobbie and i..
Love Dan Coast, have been reading the series, waiting on the next one! Fun, easy reading, hard to put down. The characters are funny, but also have their serious sides, Rodney Riesel knows his stuff! Great character studies.
Mr. Riesel has written another great story about Dan and his crew! He works well under pressure and on the wagon! But not all stories have a happy ending.
Dan Coast finally tries to give up drinking. Something long over-due. But he also gets involved in another non-PI case and he also finds a little girl in the neighborhood who needs some help.
The story line, the plot and characters work extremely well together. The author has reached the pinochle of his trade equalling that of top ten recognition.
