For decades, Disney’s leadership model has been a source of great interest and fascination, and certainly the subject of countless books on the subject. Though much has been written and taught about Walt’s philosophy and practices, as well as those of his successors, one essential element in the paradigm has been overlooked or assigned little importance. This book, written by a veteran of thousands of Disney Institute leadership programs before nearly three-quarters of a million professionals, rectifies the situation, detailing for the first time the little known factor that serves as yet another piece of Disney’s transformational thinking. For anyone aspiring to contribute to a far better business model and an exceptional workplace culture, this is the place to start.
“Look for the good in people,” Aunt Lolly always said. The theme of the story is just that, finding the good even in stubborn or unhappy people. Margaret is quite amazing and compassionate. Living with her aunt and uncle, she solves many situations in the book - using her special talent similar to intuition. This is a mystery showing kindness and understanding helps everyone. Wonderful, uplifting book.
I got to meet Mary Flynn through a presentation and found her warm and kind hearted. After reading her book, Margaret Flynn, a story about a 12 year old who saw only the goodness of people, I thought this is Mary Flynn. Her writing style made the story believable and enchanting and I highly recommend this book.
I hesitated to get this book because magical realism does not usually appeal to me. Also, I seldom give 5 stars but there was no reason not to on this story. Very well done and the supernatural aspect was done in such a way it was easy to suspend disbelief.
Thank you Mary. It was wonderful to FINALLY meet you!
It was a very uplifting book. Aunt Lolly and Margaret’s view of looking for the good in everything is something I should be doing in my life. It has inspired me.
