Rosenfeld begins his book by telling readers that he begins his interactions with patients by asking them if they experience "gribbling," a nonsense word he made up. Most people, he claims, would answer the question as if it wasn't bullshit, which he believes "confirmed a suspicion [he'd] had for a long time: Most people are baffled by their symptoms."

Most people also don't want to believe that their doctor is willing to gaslight and deceive them. F*ck this guy.

This was in my book stack for long years. I thought I should read it and pass it on. Not now! I'm keeping it! When I became really really sick and my health care providers had no explanation, this was the book that provided the clue that lead to my recovery.
