As the Nocturne line is ending this year per the authors note she combined what would have been 2 books into 1. While this blended very well I am still going to separate them for my star rating as I would have given them 2 different ratings if they had been 2 books. So the couple that seemed to be introduced first was Maddie (Maggie on the back cover and Maddie in the book) and reporter Jake. This story was not a favorite at all and I would have rated their separate book as a 2 (possibly 2+) stars. The next couple would be Carmen and Rick. I enjoyed their story a bit more and would have given them alone a 3 star(possibly even 3+ stars). As the two books had to be combined who knows if they had been separated if things would have played out a little differently. It was appreciated, though, that they looked forward and thought of the readers so that all 3 friends could be represented.
