Chloe Carter has spent the last twenty years as a ghost, hiding in the shadows, letting the world believe she was dead and all the while she was running from the nightmares of her childhood.

Now finally able to re-join the living once again and with her sister Cassandra back in her life, she desperately wants to leave her past firmly behind her. However, they have two half-sisters, one very much dead and one possibly a psychopath. Things were not looking up.
Starting with Parker Evans, a man she should want absolutely nothing to do with, a man whose own father caused her family nothing but pain. However, Parker refuses to be ignored and however much she wants to loathe him, they need each other. They both have secrets, a legacy of misery left by their fathers and if they ever want to be free, together they must uncover the truth.
When the body of a little girl is accidentally unearthed, they find themselves following a trail of cold case murders leading back decades and once they start digging they find something far more dark and sinister than they could’ve possibly imagined.

If you like reading Melinda Leigh or Kendra Elliott, you’re going to love this series – full of suspicion, murder and intrigue.

This I s the second book in a trilogy. You need to read them in order so that you are introduced to the characters. It’s not often that I’m interested in book series, but I was definitely pulled in my this one. Ms Saunders certainly knows how to create twisted stories and realistic characters.

What a rollercoaster!

As we rejoin the sisters we met in Tangled Web we follow Chloe as she tries to come to terms with her terrible secret past. The story is so full of twists and turns that you can't put it down. Even with the evil secrets uncovered in this installment of The Carter Legacy you know there is so much more still to learn. I really hope the author doesn't make me wait too long! Wendy Saunders really is a master story teller and her books never disappoint. I'd recommend this book to everyone.

Lies on lies on lies based on misunderstanding

Complicated family histories, childhood observations of situations beyond understanding, half-siblings turning up unexpectedly with complex family histories of their own. When you add a couple characters who suffer from mental problems and a couple more who were abused by their father... Well, if you think you have this one figured out, just keep reading. Recommended

Another “Must Read” from Wendy Saunders

A second stunning book in the Carter series. The plot is just full of intrigue. There are so many hints that all is not what it seems before the author introduces explanations via yet another explosive and unexpected twist of events. Full of action, this novel unfolds fast and furiously. A really great read, made even better by discovering there is more to come .... in a third book.

Lies

This second book was better than the first. Unusual, yes, but this book starts tying things together. The characters are developing just as well all do as things happen and we mature. Another book you will want to read straight through.
I would recommend this book to all of the reader's of mysteries.

Just As Good As Book 1

Full of suspense, romance & you never saw that coming . Wendy Saunders is a great story teller, weaving tales of intrigue yet including potent human elements.
This book can be a stand alone but if you really want to be immersed in the story, you should also read Book 1

Twisted Lies

This thriller is almost byzantine in its approach. It is one of best thrillers I have read over the last fifty years and I expect that I will have to read it again to totally understand it.
