Christmas has come to Black Salmon Falls. But, it’s not just all holiday cheer…
Emily is a strong, but damaged girl. A girl still recovering from the mental and emotional wounds she suffered after her abduction. A girl with a mountain of secrets.
Jasper is a man without a purpose. A man who's trying to figure out where he fits into the world around him.
With the northern clans coming to town for their annual holiday ceremonies, the clans of the Pacific Northwest once again find themselves under fire when townspeople start turning up murdered and mutilated by a mysterious creature.
When long time antagonist Sheriff Richards must face a re-election campaign against an opponent who is staunchly and violently opposed to the shifter community, the clans find themselves in the unusual position of having to ally with a man who despises them.
It's a race against time to unravel the mystery of who's behind the killings. Unthinkable alliances are formed. Conspiracies are revealed. And politics do indeed, make for strange bedfellows.
Can Jasper and Emily solve the mystery in time to save Black Salmon Falls? Or will it indeed, be a Black Christmas for the clans?
This book features a feisty, curvy redhead who's not afraid to speak her mind or stand up for what's right, and a gentle giant of a man who's got a hard edge you don't want to be on the wrong side of.
This book is a standalone, no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happy ending!
Most of this story was suspenseful and high octane, with a number of extended steamy scenes between Emily, the human heroine who endured months of brutal experimentation, and Jasper, one of the Black Salmon Falls bear shifters. The election in town really raised the bar on tension between the town's shifter and human residents. I did find the first few chapters disconcertingly confusing. The story is told from alternating voices, but in the beginning, it is not clear whose mind we are in! I later understood the rationale for purposely muddying who was telling the tale, but I almost stopped reading. I am, however, glad I kept at it. So, persevere through the first part of the book and learn the identity of the mutilating killer that has set Black Salmon Falls on edge!
I would definitely recommend reading the earlier books in the series that give more background on the Sheriff's uneasy relationship with the shifters (first book in the series lays out that issue) and the immediately preceding book gives key background on Emily's horrifying imprisonment.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Emily is still recovering from her abduction and is having some crazy dreams. Jasper wants to be the man for Emily and it seems he is always there when she needs him. There's been some killings in their community and everyone is quick to blame the bears for it especially when its re-election time and everyone wants the cases closed. Emily is worried that she may have something to do with what's going on more so since she doesn't know exactly what the crazy doctor that held her captive had done to her. When a crowd of people gather in protest that no one has been arrested from these horrific crimes Jasper and an old friend decide to do some investigating of their own. What they discover is shocking. Is Emily involved? Who or what is killing people.
This book wasn't so much a holiday book except for people gathering and preparing for it. For the most part it was about the killings going on in the area. It was still a great story by this author and I really enjoyed it. I can't wait to read what she does next.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This clan has no shortage of dangerous adventures. We kinda met Emily a few books back. She is Olivia's sister and Alpha Asher's sister in law. Jasper just came back to the clan as his cousin, Luca's bodyguard. Emily has come a really long way in healing what those government fanatics did to her, but she's still got a way to go. I loved that she has been able to connect with Jasper more than anyone else. I was excited about Holly, Merry and Winter. So funny that Mariana wants to be BFF's with sexy and snarky Winter. They are so funny. I also loved the Christmas gift Jackson and Neesa sent. They are such a perfect pair. Jasper and Winter need to find out what is killing townspeople before a bigoted fanatic takes over and makes it open season on the bear community. I love the Black Salmon Falls. Each book tells the story of a different shifter connected to the clans and the drama the clans and shifters go through. Each book also has a wonderful story that is enthralling and exciting while they find their mates. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
There are many levels of story to be found here – in a good way (not confusing). Emily is recovering from being abducted and experimented upon; leaving her a “bit more” than human. Bad dreams and uncertainty about what is happening to her leave her on the edge. Bear-shifter Jasper is the only person who brings her comfort, as he watches over her.
Visiting clans, anti-shifter sheriffs and mysterious killings make for an exciting and touching chapter in Black Salmon Falls. An excellent read!!

As Emily recovers from her ordeal at the lab she connects and bonds with Jasper. Black Salmon Falls is having some strange murders, Emily is concerned by her strange dreams and experiments done on her, and Jasper and Winter are both investigating these murders.
What is going on with Emily, what is she, will Jasper reject her? Who's killing people and blaming the bears, will Green be successful in the elections and his quest to expel the bears from their home, what will be the future of the Pacific Northwest clans? This book was a great surprise with its Christmas vibe, Emily and Jasper are also this cute but strong couple. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This book has a lot going on in it but, having said that, it's not hard to follow. Emily and Jasper are an interesting pair and they make for a very interesting read. Emily has been through hell and back and it takes Jasper catching her at her absolute lowest point for her to begin the healing process. Jasper had known she was his mate but he had to wait for her to come out of the dark on her own. It's probably a trigger for some people but it begins the healing, so it's really necessary for Emily. 💞💕💞
This is an amazing story and the series is full of suspense and passion. 💗
I love visiting Black Salmon Falls again...all the bear's aremakkarmaebooks getting ready for not only Christmas but for their friends from the North the polar bears to visit. Jasper is Luca's cousin...now he's been asked to help watch Luca's mates sister who was rescued a while back from a very nasty kidnapping where they experimented on her with who knows what..Emily is not in a good place but Jasper is helping...murders are happening and the bear's are being blamed...what's doing them? What's going on with Emily? What's Jasper gonna do? Read it and find out! Will they ALL get a Christmas Miracle?
Emily is slowly coming to grips with the horrible ordeal of her imprisonment and the experiments done on her. Jasper is a big part of her recovery and he's just as hung up on her. Trouble has come to their small town though in the form of a bigot who wants to kill all the bear clans and if that's not enough, there is something killing humans and making it look like bears. The suspense is good, the story well thought out and the characters get to you.

First of all, I love how the books are all interconnected, even tough it can be read as a stand-alone, it’s best to read the whole series. Anyway, paranormal books always start slow for me but when I get the hang of the story, I can’t stop, and that’s exactly what happened today with this book. I started reading today at 29% and just finished now at one siting. Great story, the author sure knows how to create great content and to keep doing this for an inteire series of paranormal subject it’s amazing.
Paranormal mystery story with romance. Great storyline with heroine which after the kidnapping and experiments, tries to find out what is happening to her with help. The character are well developed. Action, adventure and mystery are in this excellent book. The chemistry between Emily and Jasper is great and catch and hold your attention for the whole story. I recommended it and I can't wait for the next one. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
A very deep and intense shifter story. There is action, a mystery, plenty of hot and steamy romance and even just a tad bit of politics. The two main characters are wonderful. Emily has secrets even she doesn’t know and Jasper will love and protect her from anything. But when humans are killed no one knows who the killer is. And Emily is having the most gruesome dreams. How are they connected?
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
Great story, wonderful characters and enough intrigue to keep you guessing. We finally find out more of what happened while Emily was imprisoned, and follow her growing attraction to Jasper while he helps to solve some murders. An exciting addition to the series that I couldn’t put down. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This book has twists and turns, suspense, mystery, action and so much more. Definitely a page turner that will have you on the edge of your seat devouring this story. Emily and Jasper leaning on each other and everything they face together is so well written. I voluntarily received this book to review for my honest opinion.

The character are well developed. Action, adventure and mystery are in this excellent book. The chemistry between Emily and Jasper is great and catch and hold your attention for the whole story.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. It's a typical BSF-story. If you're not freaked out by the end of the first chapter - you're in for a treat. The book is just as good as the former ones. The writing is easy to keep up and you'll get the feeling you're in the story with them...
