Considering this book was first released nearly 45 years ago I found it to be a very enjoyable read.
It was fascinating to learn about how people used to live and work in days gone by.
The stories about farming and the lives farming families led is a real eye opener. Obviously there is a lot that has changed over the years, some things for the better and some for the worst.
A couple of weeks ago all I knew about Ted Moult was that he was a farmer from Derbyshire who died a tragic death.
I now know much more about a man who should be rightly remembered for all that he achieved in the farming industry as well as in the broadcasting media.
It would be nice to find out more of what became of him after the end of this book. The last 13 years of his life also need to be written up and shared.
